What’s it like to be mute?
Have you ever pondered it, too?
To sit in total silence,
drown in all residence.
Do they fail to believe that they’re alone,
or do we fall short to comprehend that they have a lot more to be shown.
Do they just sit there, and sail in all they’re mind has
to be said. Drifting in the tide of their thoughts.
Running with it, in spite of it all.
Holding on to them, and having no one to share it with.
I’d rather wish to not exist.
Do they think of actions, other than speaking?
Causing commotion with only movement, is what they’re seeking?
Or do they consider scenes but shy away to the need
of carrying them out would be to speak?
Either one is hard to believe…
Are their mines full of rioting?
Or are they quietly soothing?
Do they just sit there and listen to it all,
not marveling to our opinions
not giving a damn about our thoughts.
Something I wish could have been taught…
I would use that a lot….
Do they even hold half as many as us?
Or do they hold double as much?
No one may ever know…
And even if they did, what then so?
What would they do with the knowledge?
Hell, what can they do?
Can we reach out, and somehow comfort then?
Should we sit down and leave them be?
Do they even need help,
or do we?
Do they live their life instilled in curiosity?
Or do they not have much, and that’s why they choose not to speak?
Cause see
they are different ways to become mute.
…I wonder if it’s something they can choose.
Or are they forced? By waves of confusion.
Is their time an illusion?
Are they lost in pain?
Or left in dismay?
I don’t understand…
They’re too many “maybes”.
Not enough “so”.
Too many questions.
Not enough answers
All my thoughts, all my doubts
spreading like cancer.
I need to find reason,
Identify this treason.
How come it means too much to me,
I can sit here and try to philosophize
some witty response
but I’m done trying to sound as if I sit above you all.
I’m plainly curious,
to be bluntly honest.
