Snippet 5 - Choice

Kief: Well, nothing's new there babe. Days before pa lang alam ko nang magtetrend ako today.

She laughed and gave me a light slap on my cheek.

Ly: Kapal!

Kief: Mahal mo naman.

Ly: Ay makapal nga!

Natawa ako sa kanya. She's cute. She's everything I have been looking for. And even if I felt down a while ago, it didn't matter. I can go by with just her by my side.

I kissed her forehead before staring at her.

Kief: I choose you. Kahit anong mangyari, kahit anong sabihin ng iba, kahit may mangyari mang di maganda. I choose you. And I will always do.

Ly: Are you trying to make me feel better because you are doing a very good job.

Kief: Hala may bayad na kiss yan.

She laughed before giving me another kiss on the lips. It was yet another brief one, but it was everything. It sent fireworks exploding in my system.

Kief: Seriously, babe. I'm more than fine now. You never fail to make me realize what matters. Ikaw lang, sapat na.

Ly: Ang jej naman ng last line mo!

Kief: E anong magagawa ko kung totoo naman?

Ly: Yung totoo Kief are you really trying to make me feel better or you just want me to kiss you?

Damn this girl. She gets me everytime.

Kief: Ummm. Pwede ba both?

Ly: Sus pasalamat ka effective!

She gave me another kiss on the lips before moving away from me.

Wow nakadami ako ngayon ha! Well, honestly, i really dont mind the kisses. They were the sweetest, yes. Pero mas mahalaga sakin ang makasama siya. Ang mapakita sa kanya na siya pa rin. Siya pa rin ang pipiliin ko, and that no one could tell me otherwise.

Vania: Guys ano ba let's go gutom nako! Hindi tayo mabubusog sa pa kiss kiss na yan!

Agad kaming napalingon and there we saw momager. Mukhang kanina pa siya nakatayo dun. Looked like naisahan kami. We thought she left when she came back and never did. Matalino talaga.

Aly and I looked at each other, then at her.

KiefLy: Bitter!

Vania: Pero may class!

And she left for good. Haha! Sumunod nalang kami to avoid more conflicts. Nagdadabog na si momager e. Masama pa naman siyang gutumin.

Palabas na kami when I saw my parents and my siblings waiting for us. Dani immediately hugged Alyssa.

Dani: You know we gotchu, Ate Ly!

Thirdy: Bawi lang tayo next time, Ate.

Thirdy came forward and hugged Ly before tapping on my shoulder.

Thirdy: At ikaw manong, chill lang. Wag mo na pansinin.

Mozzy: It's just one game, guys. May next time pa. Why don't we celebrate for now? Tara dinner!

Kiefer: Celebrate what, ma?

Vanie: Life! Let's celebrate life!

Okay weird. But anyway, we said yes. Nothing beats dinner with people who matter.

Then it hit me.

There's a price i gotta pay for fame. Maybe this is it - being under people's watchful eyes all the time. But when you think of it, they can only watch and comment. They can't change you and how you run your life if you don't let them to. Maybe this is the answer to my questions.

I did not have to choose between the choices they have laid out for me. I choose among the choices I lay out for myself. No, scratch that. There were never really choices, to me, at least. There was only that constant decision to stand for what I believe is right.

It has always been blue,

And it will always be her.

I looked at probably the best decision I have made in my life so far. She was smiling, while hugging my dad. My family adores her. They love her.

I love her.

Thirdy: Tulala ka na jan kay Ate Ly, manong?

Kiefer: I made the best choice.

I looked over at him who also stared at my dad and Ly with fondness. He just nodded.

Thirdy: Well, it takes a lot of wrong turns to finally realize the right path. And I think you found your way.

Kiefer: It's worth it, Thirds. She is worth it.
