46. August Doesn't Have Time for Patience

August could not waste time. Vastator, his new arch-nemesis, continued to babble on about how he couldn't be defeated in time to save the other Destined. As the Spanish hero racked his brain to find ways to shut Vastator up, Jeremiah did it for him. Vastator suddenly disappeared, replaced with an image of the scrawny "leader" that August knew and loved like a brother. "August! Hola!" he called out. Jeremiah looked around for a moment, then found August. "Hey! Heather's witchcraft worked! Anyway, we need your help. As in, really soon, so you better kill that egotistical robot before we all get eviscerated into little Destined Bits. Got it? Good!" Jeremiah promptly disappeared before August could ask any questions.

C'mon, wake up, August thought to himself. Luckily, he didn't need to persuade himself that hard, because his eyes snapped open. August practically flew to Loraine's controls, and set a course to the eerily large chamber--or the Rose Palace. Vastator, the egotistical robot, had rambled so much he had given his location away. August bet a thousand euros to the next homeless person he saw that Vastator, for all his bragging, wouldn't even be that hard to defeat. He just needed to go Battle of Mount August all over that self-centered machine.

Detecting the hidden urgency in Jeremiah's voice, as guys often hide their urgency, August jacked in the last August Speed canister that he had. He would need to hurry if he didn't want to be killed to death. At August Speed, August calculated, it would take about seven and a half hours to reach the Rose Palace. That was plenty of time, he'd be there right after lunch. Well, August hoped that his friends had about seven and a half hours. Oh, he hoped like an Easter Bunny after one of its ducklings stole a p(Author's Note: This is complicated humor. If you don't get it, that's okay).

Loraine zipped across the sky like something that went really fast(August was beginning to run out of metaphors). August just went inside his cabin and polished up his armor, fixed the kinks, and all the important things. He put in coolant so that Danse Macabre wouldn't set him on fire and kill him to death, oiled the joints so his limbs wouldn't get jammed and break his bones, put in fuel so his armor wouldn't go stiff, obviously dooming his, as he wouldn't be able to move.

After he made sure that disaster could not happen, August took a nap. He checked the map and saw that he could have about three hours of rest. I spent four hours on my armor? I hope it's worth it, the lone mechanic thought to himself as he drifted off to Dreamy.

Four hours of gummy-bear-chasing later, August snapped awake and checked his location. Luckily, there was a few minutes before he reached the Rose Palace. August went and checked his armor over one last time before suiting up and leaping out of his cabin's slide door.

He landed with a shazam. With purpose, he ran inside, pushing past Eden and politely avoiding Portcullis before any of them could ask questions. He leaped into the Eden Hole, right past Tyler and some other cool-looking people, running as fast as he could. At long last, August reached a door labeled Pylon Room. No doubt about it, that was where he wanted to go. August burst in through the door, imagining Jeremiah chastising him for his blatant impoliteness. However, there was no time for manners, as an egotistical robot was the only thing standing in the way between August and his hopeful friends.

"You're in a rush, hero," Vastator said, aiming a punch at August. August dodged with a Danse Macabre move that hadn't been used in years until that very day, as it was a defensive move, rather than an offensive one, like the moves that Belle and Dylan knew. August spun and slammed Vastator with a heel kick to the back, then followed it up with a superhero punch. Dents and melt marks resulted from August's powerful double attack. Vestator, slow machine as he was, could barely turn before August barraged him with Berserker's Iron punches.

August thought about how much time this was taking, and how his friends were probably being turned into fancy tables by Castle's knife-like fingers at that very moment. Such a  thought filled him with determination, and he tackled Vestator, then stomped the torso while he was down. August then chose that moment to unleash his secret weapon--A Berserker's Iron missile--four of them, actually. August, feeling in an overkill mood, unleashed all four upon the egotistical automaton, then ran to the pylon, hearing a rather loud explosion. With a surge of regret, August realized that those missiles probably would have helped in the fight against Castle.

However, there was no time for regrets. There was only time for breaking that blue crystal tower, getting the cool power boost, and flying off to save his friends. He had made a modification on his jetpack that could make him go 300 miles per hour for about two hours, which was exactly the amount of time that he needed to get to Tennessee, where August assumed that his friends still were. Jeremiah didn't specify, so that meant that there was probably no need to. With another mighty shazam, August destroyed the pylon. Voices cried out to him in a rushed tone.

Master of machines, you get the point. Hurry, and get Castle!

The voices seemed to understand August's crisis. August ran all the way back to the entrance, then jetted off into the sunset, without Loraine. He activated the modification and made it to Nashville in what was relatively no time flat. He saw a wrecked city straight  from Transformers  and dive-bombed straight into that place. With an explosion, he landed, then heard voices as soon as the smoke cleared. Teen voices.

"What was that?" a fiery female voice cried out.

"Was that Castle?" a male voice followed up.

"No way. That sound was a jet plane crashing, not a freight train sound. That must be--" another male voice, scrawny this time, reassured them, right before being cut off. "It's August!" the voice finished, and August looked up to see his teammates running towards him. He met them halfway in a metal group hug.

Once the reunited heroes broke up their embrace, Heather spoke up. "Now that August is here, you know what we've got to do." the others nodded, as Heather spoke the truth. No one said it, but it was all clear: They were going to beat Castle if it killed them.
