When Teardrops Become Daggers

When I look all around
I get so scared I want to hide
There is only one thing to be found
And it's the people at my side

I am afraid I'm going to drown
In the tears of these few
Behind every smile a frown
Oh if you only knew

I am worthless
The ones I care for
Don't see that I'm useless
But here I stand at the core

There they all are
The ones I love in tears
I know that they'll be left with a scar
And I recognize all of there fears

It hurts so much to watch
To see them in pain
As the tears kick up a notch
With me they have nothing to gain

The one I care about
I can never help
I wish I could get them out
All I can do is listen to the faint yelp

If I could sacrifice
For them and ease there way
I would but it's just the roll of the dice
If only I could make there day

It hurts me to have to see
The ones I love with a single tear
To be able to stop it I'd pay any fee
That to me is so very clear

With all this time to think
There I will forever stand
Trying to not sink
My wishes lost in the sand

But I will always be there
By there sides
Although the future is unclear
My heart always runs and hides
