Introduction

"Tina, I'm so tired of seeing my mama cry over a nigga that don't love her. She always giving him chances and he never changed." Bahja cried.

"Bahj, Wipe your tears. I know you hate seeing them fight, but let that be a lesson for you. We'll be in high school soon and we can not let these niggas play us like they do these other girls." Tinashe said looking Bahja in the eyes seriously.

"Yea. You're right. I'm not getting involved with anybody seriously."

"Hey, break before broken?" Tinashe asked as she held out her pinky.

"Yea, Break before broken." Bahja cheered before hooking pinkys.

"Good, because I'm going to enjoy my four years. No tears. Just do single people shit." Tinashe laughed.

"I hope my mama let's him go."

"Maybe one day she'll get fed up. My mom did. That's why my dad and her split up.

"Yea... Can I sleep over here? I don't wanna go back while they argue." Bahja asked shyly.

"Girl, you're like a sister to me. You don't have to ask. Just say you're staying and stay." Tinashe said with a slight laugh.

"Yay!" Bahja cheered before getting comfortable. Soon the girls fell asleep.

Moments later, They heard a loud BOOM! The girls shot up out of the bed and looked in the direction of the sound. It was gunshots, coming from Bahja's house.

"OH, MY GOD!!!" Bahja screamed as she ran home.

When she got home, she was too late. Her mother, Shamra, had been shot by her boyfriend, John, and killed. She looked at her dead mother, her blood splashed everywhere from a fatal shot to the head. Then, she looked at John in disbelief and horror. John looked at Shamra and then Bahja, realizing what he had done. He took the gun, aimed it towards his head, and took his own life. Bahja stood there, terrified and in tears because she realized she'd lost her only mother. Tinashe had finally got to the house and screamed when she saw the tragic scenery. They both stood there, speechless, before Tinashe grabbed her phone and called 911.
