Steel Mask

We are the broken

We are the free

No one will ever see me

Bleed through the sheets

To wear the steel mask

Cover the pain

Show you don't care

Put on a smile

And no one will notice

That you're wearing the steel mask

Crying yourself to sleep at night

Without the mask

When you know you're alone

Sleeping through the nightmares

Wake up

You're not alone in your empty room

Whispering to you

Terrorizing you

Sun rises and routine takes over

Wake up and you put your mask on

And go about your day

A façade of happy

You're crying underneath

Knowing no one knows

No one can see through it

The mask weighs you down

You're tired of acting

I know how you feel

To be broken inside

Tired of bleeding

Wanting to be saved

The steel mask runs through your veins

You can't be saved

Crying blood

The mask has melted

And left you broken

You're dying inside...
