Chapter two: Yeah he'll be alright

Start from the beginning

It was late afternoon when he finally stopped practicing his spells and got up from his bed but as he went to open his door it was flung open and his head collided with it.

Merlin stumbled back in shock tripped over the clothes he had left on the floor and fell to the floor hitting his head on his bed.

Merlin could hardly see anything but he found someone he didn't know looking down at him. Merlin was confused and couldn't think straight as he was in pain.

"I am so sorry. I did not mean to hit you in the head with the door," she exclaimed bending down with her bright blue dress smiling at him.

"No you didn't know. Who are you?" asked Merlin.

"Oh yeah right my name is Ann. I am visiting here with my father and brother. Arthur would have come and got you but he is busy with my father and brother. He said he is sorry and he knows he gave you the rest of the day off but they are going out to the woods for a couple of hours before dark and Arthur said he would like it if you came with him. My father and brother were a little confused at how much he wanted you with him but I said I would fetch you if it was that much of a problem. So here I am," she smiled.

Ann helped Merlin to his feet but he felt a lump coming to his forehead as well as the back of his head was killing him but he did not show any signs of this. He followed Ann out of Gaius's room and followed her all the way to the stables where Arthur, her brother and her father would be at.

Ann headed into the stables first with Merlin behind her but he was beginning to feel really dizzy but he didn't want to let Arthur down. It was clear Arthur didn't want to go into the forest with the two men visitors alone without him.

"Merlin there you are," smiled Arthur.

"Yes sire," I said to him just encase that was what Arthur wanted me to do.

"Well he seems to have good manners. Now can we get going," said the older of the two men.

"Oh yes right. Merlin this is Carl and Alan now we should get going," smiled Arthur.

Merlin nodded to Arthur before he got onto the horse that had been got out for him before all four of them headed out the stable towards the forest.

They had only been out a little while before Merlin felt like he was going to pass out but he tried to keep riding after the other three.

"Merlin are you alright," said Arthur slowing down to ride next to him.

"I don't feel that good. When Ann came to get me she put my door in my face and I fell back and hit the back of my head on my bed," said Merlin.

Merlin watched as a huge grin was planted across his best friends face before he burst out laughing. Merlin wouldn't mind as this was what they did but right now he was not kidding around and he knew he needed to sit down or lay down. The last thing he needed right now was his best friend laughing at him and riding a horse.

Arthur stopped laughing as Merlin's vision began to fade and before he knew it he found himself falling of his horse hitting the ground hard. He moaned out in pain and before he could stop himself he was sick over the ground.

Arthur stopped his horse jumped off it and knelt down beside Merlin. "Oh Merlin I did not know you were that bad."

"Arthur.....," was Merlin's last words as he felt himself passing out.

Arthur's POV

Arthur looked at his friend who had just passed out in front of him and it made him feel terrible.

"What happened here? Is he out cold?" asked Alan.

"He fainted. We have to get him back to Camelot now," said Arthur picking up his friend and putting him on to his horse.

Arthur tied the other horse to his horse before he climbed onto the horse with Merlin and set off back to Camelot with Alan and Carl riding close behind.

It didn't take too long to get back to Camelot. He jumped of his horse put Merlin his arms and rushed towards Gaius's chamber as quickly as he could.

Once he arrived he pushed open the door and found Gaius looking up confused but when he saw Merlin in Arthur's arms he ran forward looking worried.

"What has happened? Has this anything to do with magic?" asked Gaius.

"I don't know Gaius. I really do not know. He got bashed on the head by his own door and hit his head on his bed earlier and he thinks it's something to do with that," said Arthur trying to hide his worried expression but he had already lost his best friend nearly before and didn't want to go through that all again so soon.

"Arthur calm down. I need to check him over put him on my bed for now. I need you to collect some water can you do that for me," said Gaius.

"Yes I can do," said Arthur putting his best friend on the bed.

"Arthur there is nothing to be worried about. Merlin will be alright. We both know how powerful Merlin is and how strong he is," smiled Gaius.

"Yeah he'll be alright."
