Selina

Untitled Part 1

Bruce was sitting on his desk working on some test papers when Selina jumped in his room from the window, she showed up just in time, Bruce thought.

He looked up and smiled at her, Selina stood there confused she knew he was hiding something from her, it was written on his face. "What are you doing?" Selina walked to his desk and squinted her eyes. Bruce stood up from his chair and bit his lower lip feeling slightly nervous. He was still smiling.

"Selina...I'- I've got something for you" Bruce said.

Her eyebrows furrowed "What is it?"

Bruce leaned down to open one of his drawers of his desk; he picked up a small box and closed the drawer. Selina started at the box, it was wrapped up in red paper and had a thin yellow ribbon wrapped around it. Bruce handed the box to her. Her fingers slightly brushed against his for a moment and she felt something stir inside her, she stared at the box, Bruce had written something on it, it looked very neat

It read,

'To Selina, with love

From Bruce'

She looked up at Bruce and glared at him, "Why?"

"Because it's Christmas....and you're my....best friend" he said with a soft voice, his eyes never leaving her.

Right, it was Christmas. But she didn't get anything for him because she had nothing. She thought later she would steal something for him.

Selina stared at Bruce feeling dumb. She didn't have anything to say just like when Bruce had told her that he missed her once, during a charity party.

Nobody had ever told her that they missed her,

Nobody had ever given her presents,

And she had never felt this way for anyone.

Selina knew what it was.

"Open it..." Bruce said. Selina took a deep breath and looked down at the present again with her a small frown on her face in concentration.

She hated it that he made her feel like that, she didn't want to.

Bruce wondered why was she so quiet and why wouldn't she open her present... was she feeling bad because she didn't get something for him? But it didn't matter.

He just wanted her to feel happy. He wanted to impress her. He also wanted her to feel the way same way he felt about her.

She thought about the last time he had given her a present and then he asked her to move in with him so that she could help him find his parents killer and he could give her a place to live, Selina had felt embarrassed and angry. She didn't take the present or the opportunity. She couldn't take this one either.

"Bruce, I can't take this....I appreciate it but, I can't." She said with a heavy heart. She wanted to. But she couldn't.

It was just a Christmas present. But she didn't have anything to gift him. Again, she could steal but Bruce wouldn't appreciate it.

Selina noticed how Bruce's expression changed. He looked like a lost puppy. "Why not?'' He asked with confusion.

"I just can't!" She shouted. Bruce seemed hurt. She glared at him, and grabbed his collar smashing her lips against his.

Bruce froze; she pulled back before he could come back to his senses.

"I've got nothing for you" she whispered, her head rested against his forehead, his eyes still close and his face leaning close to her.

He lowered himself a little; his lips hovered over hers for a few seconds until he closed the gap. Bruce kissed her and pulled her closer, his hands went around her waist and her hands slowly went in his hair. He made her feel safe... she was in his arms, his embrace was warm...his lips were warm and exceptionally soft.

Bruce pulled away, his face was flushed "I don't want anything, Selina..." He looked down to her, his hands slid down her arms and their fingers intertwined, "It's just a Christmas present, I wanted to make you happy'' She was his best friend....but he wanted them to be more than that, he knew that she would never leave him. She would always stay by his side; she has always been even after what happened with Galavan and Silver, He was glad that he had met her.

"I don't need presents; there are other ways to make me happy'' Selina smirked slightly and pressed her lips to his to shut him up.
