He woke up with a slow drowsy stand. He tasted the humid air and leaned over the small singular sink and mirror. It was the only other furniture in his room besides the small bed in the corner. He examined himself admiring his toned muscular body while imagining where his tattoo might appear, It had never occurred to him that he may not even summon a spirit animal at all but he definitely thought it would be something that would bring him power and admirable strength. Maybe an orca or manta ray or even a jaguar.
He was popular among the village girls every time he exited his home he could hear some girl(s) giggling and he took pride in that. His dark, glossy black hair shimmered in the scattered light shining from the small window. He brushed the tangles out and threw some scented oil on his chest to mask his odor.
"Meiko , breakfast! " He exited his thatch room and walked into kitchen/ living room when the smell of vegetables and fruits filled his lungs. He sat and filled his plate with his favorite fruits and vegetables. Lepe (leh-pay) questioned "Good morning?"
"Yeah, fine," Lepe was the closest thing he had to family. Dropped on her doorstep as a baby, Meiko has no idea who his real parents were. Lepe is the village elder, nicknamed Lepekka meaning 'The Philosophical One' in their native language. He calls her Lepe for short. She was always asking these questions that had some deeper meaning in which Meiko had never had any intention on answering, but always did ... with the wrong answer ... " Tell me about you?" she asked.
He finished chewing and stated "Why?"
"Because it's important" she answered with a smile.
He retorted back with a grin, "In what way?"
"Well you determine what you summon, remember?"
"Is that so?" He answers unimpressed.
"Eat your food, boy."
"Well I'm not good at school, though I'd like to say I'm good looking and I'll probably spend the rest of my life living off you and eventually join the military or I may even just live off the women of the village."
Lepe frowned "You shouldn't be so down on yourself or to confident either." She said with a faint smile. He smiles, says thanks and leaves feeling no different than he did this morning. He flips the cloth door out of his way turns right and hears two girls giggling.
