I am a firm believer in one thing leads to another. It's been earth's rhetoric since humans walked it's surface. Man makes fire. Then man makes the wheel. They make civilizations. Communities. But they become unhappy. They want to have it all. They kill each other. They make weapons to use against people. From rocks, to spears, guns, grenades. Time goes on. Tanks, bombs, bioweapons. We always want something better than what someone else has. We tamper with things better left untouched.  Well, THAT, is where my story begins,
The year of 2136 was known as the year of science. The world was becoming a more advanced, and all around better place, every day. Natural and reusable energy completely replaced fossil fuels, eradicating harmful emissions. Cancer's cure was discovered, as well as almost every other dangerous disease. Biological science was flourishing, finding how to change the genetic makeup of any animal. From there, they discovered how to make completely new animals. Then, they went too far....
Within the steel walls of Hibbing, Minnesota, on a hilltop at the south part of town, stood the M.W.A.S (Mid-Western Association of Science), where hundreds of the Midwest's most brilliant minds were at work. They were working on project p1h9f5q, code named the 'Perfect Human Formula', which would turn a man into one with enhanced strength, speed, void of weakness, but most of all, one with unparalleled intelligence. A man who is immortal.
For weeks, scientists attempted for a solution, but as the days wore on, they started thinking the task was an impossible one. Despite the circumstances, the determined scientists wouldn't rest until their task was complete. The government was offering them a hefty payment if they got it done by the deadline. Lack of sleep slowed everything down, making the probability of success seem even more bleak.
To make matters worse, news of the scientists' intentions reached the public ear, leading people to want the formula for themselves. Over the course of three weeks, attempts to break into the science station  became both more frequent and violent. After four weeks of futile attempts to break into the science station, one man got through the high tech security, completely undetected, as well as sneaking past the scientists. Looking around, the man spotted the perfect human formula injection pod, slowly sneaking to it. He walked inside of it, and seeing the activation button, he pressed it.
The doors to the pod slammed and locked behind the man, trapping him inside of it. The machine whirred to life, and only then did the scientists realize what had happened. Instantaneously, they all frantically tried to stop the machine, but to no avail.
"Cut the power!" one yelled at the security executive, who had been watching the scene in awe and horror.
Hearing the scientist yell this, the security executive snapped out of his stupor and ran towards the power box. He fumbled his keys, before then grabbing the power box key and opening it. He slammed the power button down, which caused red lights to flash, and a loud alarm to go off.
"WARNING: Emergency power shutdown protocol engaged." said an electronic female voice.
Everything started to power down, all except the injection pod, which seemed to the opposite.
A scream came from the pod as a bright light shone from inside, blinding everyone in the room. A sound equivalent to  the loudest thunder came from the pod, bringing the scientist to their knees, covering their ears.
The light started to fade, and the machine slowly powered down. The scientists, dazed but unharmed, slowly stood up, looking at the machine. The doors opened, releasing a thick and eerie fog. A moan came from the fog, making the hair on everyone's necks stand on end.
Another moan came from the fog, but this one was uncomfortably close. Then all was silent. For a moment, everything around them seemed to pause. Other than the electrical shorting of the pod, everything was silent.
Every fiber of their being was telling the scientists to run, try to get away, but the fear of everything that was happening stopped them from doing so. No one moved.
Suddenly, out of the fog, lurched and open hand. It closed around the throat of the frightened scientists. He was yanked into the fog. Screams of pain and fear followed, along with tears and squelches of human flesh being torn and mutilated.
A hand fell out of the fog, only attached to an arm by a mere tendon. Blood poured from the wound onto the pure white linoleum floor, staining it dark red. The scientists all stepped back, horrified at the scene that was going on  before them.
There was a loud roar, when suddenly, a creature lunged at the scientists from the fog. It pinned one down, and started tearing him apart. The man screamed and writhed in pain, but the creature did not waver. Everyone screamed and scattered in every direction, fleeing like mice from a cat.
In their furor, one by one, the scientists were caught and brutally killed by the creature. One group managed to escape, running through the long and maze-like halls of the science station. The leader of the group tried to direct them through the halls quickly, and without getting killed. But with every look back, one more person was gone, until soon, he was the only one left.
The scientist ran around another corner, and almost cried in relief, for at the end of the hallway, was the exit. He took off, sprinting down the hallway, hoping to get their before the creature captured him and killed him, just like it did to all his companions. He got closer and closer and closer, until he was only feet away.
Then, out of nowhere, something pinned the scientist to the ground. There was a loud SNAP as the scientist's spine broke from the pressure. The scientist gasped in pain as his lower body went numb.
There was an unearthly laugh as the creature stepped of the scientist's back.
"Did you really think you could escape me? How funny..." the monster said, it's voice sounding like that of a demon from hell.
"Who..... Are you?" the scientist asks, frightened.
The monster reached down and grabbed the scientist's head, turning it so that he was looking at the creature. The man gasped. The monster resembled a human, torn and scorched. Blood oozed from open wounds, and the creature smelled of burnt flesh. It's nose was missing, seeming to have melted off, only having its bone outline showing. There was only a little hair on its head, scorched off, and it only had a few teeth. The most horrifying feature was the eyes. The sclera were blood red, with golden pupils. They were almost lifeless.
   The monster chuckled again.
"Me? I am Dregor. I am your creation. I am.... the perfect human!" the monster said, it's voice horribly distorted, like a constant growl. It then lunged at the scientist's throat.
