Today was the first class Teo had in his whole life

Early in the morning the trio gathered and headed towards the lecture buildings

The auditorium was fairly large that it could easily hold up to 200 people. There were 4 other auditoriums they could choose from and the only restrictions there was first come first serve. As long as the space permits it, students were allowed in.

Once inside, they were required to use their identification stone to register to that auditorium. Once registered they were no long able to switch auditoriums for the whole year.

There was a little over 500 new students this year, and each auditorium became divided unnaturally depending on the students' choices.

Teo and the others went to the fourth auditorium. It had the least amount of people in there. There was about 40 people in the room while the first auditorium was packed the most, fitting a little over 200 students. The second and third auditorium had more than around 120 each.

As soon as someone moved in the front of the class, the student began to quiet down.

A woman wearing a purple and black robe, brown hair, green domineering eyes, she walked towards the blackboard and wrote "Dina".

She turned around and spoke "You all can call me Dina or Teacher Dina, it doesn't really matter"

She spread her gaze across the room

"Looks like my class is as unpopular as always, but you guys are quite lucky since I'm the best teacher compared to the other 3. Everyone I have taught were no ordinary individuals" She smiled devilishly

Dina was famous within the academy, any well informed first year would have heard of her as the "teacher from hell". They would avoid her classes like a plague, and most of the students who were uninformed would accidentally choose in her class.

The academic teachers would have full control of their class, the higher ups would not intervene as long as the subjects were taught. So how each of the classes were taught were up to the teacher.

Ms Dian would not move on until everyone in her class understood the topic to such an extent. She prepared tests with each and every topic. Until everyone had at least 90% correct answers they would not move on. This made other students turn on each other. Anyone who failed and stalled the class would be targeted by other students who were sick of hearing the same things over and over again. This pushed the students to study their brains out or they would get harassed and bullied. Though violence was prohibited, students of the same year would be the exception as long as they were no permanent damage or death, the academy would turn a blind eye.

"Will be starting off with history of the empire, followed by basic skills and knowledge you will need to survive in this world, such us arithmetic, if you don't want to get cheated, herb identification, basic human anatomy, wild beast identification, and others..."

....

The class continued with a lecture

It covered the history of the Avanald Empire; from the founder of the empire, Arman Avanald, to the first war that led to its creation, to the ruins where the empire was build. The empire flourished after its chaotic creation, the authority of the Imperial family had never faded since its rule. The lecture also covered the recent war that occurred 50 years ago.

The Avanald Empire had the most fertile land in the surrounding area. It covered such a large area that even with its citizens, it was still very spacious. Such a land was coveted by others and thus a coalition of different empires and kingdoms attempted to invade the Avanald Empire's boarders. They attacked the guardian city of Mist Valley, Misty City.

Misty City was located outside the Avanald borders that was heavily guarded by the army. Among other things, it was one of the trade routes that the Avanald Empire established trade with the outside. A fierce battle took place and the city was taken by the coalition, they attempted to enter the borders when a strange and ancient force stopped them. The forces that entered the border started to lose strength. The deeper they entered the greater their strength decreased until it eventually lead to several soldiers to die.

After that, the coalition retreated outside the borders. The Avanald Army launched a counter attack, with an area nearby protected by the border, it could easily whittle down the enemy forces. They would attack and if the situation was unfavorable they could easily retreat within the borders where they would still maintain their strength. The army eventually, forced the coalition to retreat completely abandon the war, regaining Misty City once again.

The barrier was attributed to the empire's ancient ruins. No person born of foreign soil was allowed within the empire by this barrier, which is why the Empire had never been attacked for such a long time until it was forgotten by others.

The mysterious power was still unknown to them, perhaps only the upper echelons of the empire knew about it, but that was something the public did not need to know.

....

The class lasted for 5 hours

The students were all paying attention to the lecture as it was the first time they heard of such things, so they were quite interested.

After class, Lia headed elsewhere, perhaps to the Martial faction or her other electives, but Teo and Windle headed to another location. It was a circular auditorium but it was placed outside of any building. The landscape was modified so that it looked like an auditorium built outside. In the middle of the auditorium was a medium size flat area.

Here, 27 students were gathered, waiting for the teacher to come. It was a gathering of elementalists. There were many students with prideful expressions, since elementalists were the elites of the country. Some a more friendly and excited expression, comparing themselves with each other.

Windle and Teo sat on one side, they overheard a conversation between other students.

A golden hair youth, with an arrogant expression was loudly bragging to his circle of friends about his elemental attribute. He was apparently said that he was a dualist of wind and fire. Everyone in this circle also had a haughty expressions on their faces. Two others, a boy and girl, within the group were also dualists, and then they praised the black haired youth that was maintaining his silence. They praised him to be as he had 3 elemental attribute, a 'Triad'.

Many of the other students were in awe of the group, majority of them only hand single element, and it is known to them that at the very start, people who had 2 or even 3 elemental attribute had a huge advantage in combat.

A familiar figure approached the center of the area, many students started to quiet down. Many with somewhat fearful expressions, while in contrast, Teo and Windle were surprised but did not react fearful at all.
