The middle aged man turn toward the door.

"Youngest, big brother told me that he will be out for a while, hes going to play with the mortals" said the middle aged man

"He sure has weird hobbies" said the youngest.

....

A remote village deep within the Avanald Empire, Char village.

"Ahh!" a scream inside one of the houses, a group of people waiting outside looking towards the house.

Anxious expressions on their faces.

Within the the wooden house, a man holding his wife's hand. the village doctor and the midwife was delivering a baby.

A loud cry could be heard, a baby was born.

"Fei look its our son" said the man

The woman smiled as she held her son. "What should we name him Talwin?"

"Lets name him, Teo"

....

2 years passed

A kid was ran out of the house, followed by a middle aged man. The young man age 10. He was Aran, Teo's eldest brother. Today he was going to the village chief to take the divination rite.

"Well Talwin, Fei, I'll be taking Aran to the chief."

"Brother Ishwin, please take care of him" Talwin said as he rubbed Aran's head

"Don't worry, He'll do fine" Ishwin with a smile walked towards the village chief's house

A little girl who was holding Teo ran up and shouted "Big brother, do your best!". This little girl was Rowen, who was Teo's older sister.

In the Avanald Empire, children who were 10 would take divination rites and was sent to the closest city and was to be enrolled into the academy.

3 years passed

Teo was now 5, sitting on the floor looking at a book. It was a children's book Talwin bought for him. As a child, Fei would often read to him and even started teaching him how to read. He loved reading his favorite story about a turtle and a tiger again and again.

Teo was not like the other kids in the village, he often didn't like to run around and play. He preferred to stay inside and read the books his father got for him, the only person who he usually played with was his sister until last year when she also took her divination rite.

Teo's family was not poor but also not rich. His father worked as a clerk for a village merchant. His mother, Fei work as an assistant to the village's apothecarist.

Talwin and Fei was very concerned with Teo's lack of interest to go out and play with other village children, so they got him books that had stories of battles and adventures. It failed quite miserably, and it just made him even stay in more, reading and re-reading books over and over again. He doesn't seem to get bored of it. He even started reading documents not meant for someone so young.
