"Damn, I already miss you" he said, sighing

"I miss you too"

I started walking over to my bed and laid down, it was silent for a few minutes, but it was a comfortable silence.

"Xavier, can I ask you something?" I asked him

"Sure baby, go ahead"

"Why did you agree with my dad when he asked to leave tomorrow morning?"

He was silent for a minute before answering

"He was right, its dangerous here, my uncle just died and the culprit is still out there, you going back to your pack is the best choice I have to protect you, that way I know your dad and everyone else is gonna protect you there. The selfish bastard that I am wants to keep you here with me, forever, but the reasonable side of me wants whats best for you and that's to keep you protected no matter what." He finished

My heart started beating faster against my chest, how did I get lucky to have a mate like Xavier?

"I love you, I'm glad I have a mate like you" I told him

"I love you too" he said "listen, I have to go and take care of a few things, I'll see you at the meeting tonight"

"Okay see you"

On that note, I hung up my phone and started drifting off to sleep.

"Layla"

"Mhmm"

"Laylaaaaaaa, wakey wakey"

"Leave me aloneee" I whined

"LAYLA!"

My eyes shot open and came in contact with some bright green eyes

"Danny, what the hell do you want?" I asked, irritated

"Well I just wanted to wake you up before the meeting"

"What time is it?" I yawned

"5:15"

I groaned and laid back down, "wake me up at 5:45" I told him

"Okay I guess you don't want to hear what I found out" he said teasingly, while walking away

"It's probably nothing" I muttered

"Fine, I guess you don't want to know what I found in the woods that could be connected to the killing of King Mitch"

My eyes right away shot open and I sat up, Danny was in Xavier's office earlier to tell him what he had found, I wanted to know too

"WAIT!" I shouted "I want to know"

"I thought you said 'it's probably nothing'" he mocked

"One, I don't talk like that and two, I wouldn't have said that if you told me it was about the killing of king Mitch" I said while glaring at him

He turned around with smirked painted on his face, he started walking to me and sat on the bed

"I'll tell you, only under one condition"

"Depends, what's the condition?" I said, looking at him warily

"You, have to hang out with me, for one day"

"Are you serious?"

"Yeah, that's it" he said smugly

"I'm leaving tomorrow"

"So, I'll visit you"

"But your the head beta, you can't just visit me whenever you like"

"It doesn't matter, I know we will see each other again, I know it"
