Veronica's POV:

I slightly let my head drift. I kissed her on the cheek. I said to her "I don't wanna put you in danger." I placed my hand on her right cheek. I looked into her eyes. She laid her head on my chest. I wrapped my arms around her. I drifted to sleep.

The next day...

Eternity's POV:

I checked the time. I slept for a whole day. I look up. Veronica was asleep. I gently pulled her arms off me. I got up and walked toward the window. I looked out on the lake that was outside. I ran my fingers through my hair. I heard a knock on the door. It surprised me. I gasped then quickly, my eyes looked at the bed. She was still sound asleep. I walked toward the the stairs outside the bedroom and then toward the door. I opened it to see a woman in a black hoodie and blue jeans. She had her hair up in a ponytail. Her green eyes turned a blood red. Her expression turned to anger. She said "WOLF!" My eyes widened. I stepped back. She stepped through the door. "Where is my daughter?" Still shocked I quickly shifted. I let out a growl. She gave me a smile showing her fangs.

Out of no where I was pushed back. I looked up to see Veronica. She yelled "Don't touch her!" Veronica looked back at me and said "Run. Run, Eternity. As fast as you can. Don't worry about me. I'll be fine. I promise." Her once blue eyes had turned red. Her eyes showed pain. I dashed out the door. I trust Veronica.

Veronica's POV:

In front of me stood my mother. She said in anger "Are you nuts!? Why was that wolf here!? Hunt her down! Kill her!" I walked up to my mom and said "You won't touch her!" She said "She is the alpha of a pure bred pack of mutts!" I shouted "Don't you call her a mutt. She is much more than a wolf. I don't care what she is. What me and her have isn't a rivalry. You won't touch her. Nor will anyone else. I don't care, family or not, touch her and I WILL kill you." I began walking away. She grabbed my shoulder. She said "This is dangerous. She is tricking you." I said "You know when you find the one." I yanked my shoulder forward, pulling away from her grip. I stormed out the door. I had my hands in fists. I could feel me face growing red with anger.

Eternity's POV:

I ran through the woods. I didn't slow my pace at all. My vision was blurry. I was terrified. Why did I run away? I should've stayed. Protected her. I quickly stopped day dreaming and came to a halt. Centimeters from the very edge of a cliff. I yelped. The ground was wet from rain. I couldn't come to a stop. My back legs began sliding off the cliff. I was barely holding on by my front paws that were quickly slipping.
