a leaf with its other leaves

i am a leaf.

i grow together with the tree—

from roots, to me.

i stay in the branches, barely moving,

letting the wind shake me until it blows me away,

carrying my light figure with it.

then slowly, so slowly that it shifts swiftly

landing me on the ground without a sound nor thud.

i lay there quietly, watching other fallen leaves around me.

i fell alone, fell quietly.

but i know, i know—

that i will not be alone anymore.

for these other leaves around

joins me lying on this earth's surface.

and even if people steps on us;

and doesn't see nor seem to care about us,

i couldn't care less too

because together, we make a team.

and it doesn't matter

when i don't have someone to lean on before

because they've been waiting for me—i know.

i knew.

i've witnessed

and it's true.
