Chapter 11

ENJOY!!!!

Lindsey POV

I drove back to Jaycees' house after leaving the mall. I walked in to

found her asleep on the couch. I didn't want to wake her so I snuck

upstairs quietly. I threw the bags in the corner and went to lie

down on the bed. I found myself staring at the periwinkle blue walls,

thinking about Gavin and why he took off. I mean, I'm the one who

he attacked. My thoughts were interrupted by a knock on the door.

"Hey, I didn't hear you come in." She said as she walked in and sat

on the bed beside me.

"Oh hey, I didn't want to wake you. How was your day with

Terrance?" I asked sitting up and smiling at her.

"When did you see him here?" She asked looking embarrassed.

"I saw him when I was walking back from the gazebo. I didn't come

in; I went to the mall instead." I said seeing that she had thought I

had walked in on them again.

"What were you doing back there. You know it's been a lot of dead

animals showing up back there lately, I heard. I haven't been back there in like seven years." She said.

"I went there to clear my mind; you know it is still beautiful back

there, but I think you are right it might not be safe to go by

myself." I said realizing that she was more right than she knew.

"I hate to ask but do you think I can stay a few more days. Alexis

and I aren't exactly on the same page right now." I said

remembering the argument that I had with Alexis. I then told

Jaycee about it.

"It doesn't even surprise me that she did something stupid like that. Your cousin is so desperate; I bet if he told her the truth she would

stay with him. Its cool if you stay for a few more days." She said

getting up and walking towards the door.

The next morning, I jumped out of bed, took a quick shower, threw

on my long sleeve blue shirt, a pair of black pants, and a black coat

and ran downstairs. I was determined to meet Gavin today no

matter what. Luckily for me Jaycee was already gone, so I didn't

have to wait for her. I left for school earlier than usual; so that I

could catch him before class. Unfortunately, he didn't show up to

school again. I had planned for this to happen; so after my first

class, I went to the front office to get his address. I walked into the

office and was greeted by Mrs. Hurst the schools receptionist. She

was a small stocky woman, who wore her hair in the cliché secretary

bun with a pair of black thick rimmed plastic glasses; which made her

eyes look two times smaller on her round chubby face.
