Ekko

I enter the throne room nervously, my Aunt Ester and uncle Alec never summon me to the throne room, ever, meaning it's serious. Ester and Alec sit on their thrones, holding hands.

"You wanted to see me?" I ask

"Yes, we have something to tell you," Alec says

"Which is?" I ask

"You are to marry Fili of the line of Durin," Ester says excitedly

"Wait what?! How long have you planned this and kept it from me?" I ask annoyed

"We all decided it when you were young, his mother and uncle and us. He's a nice young dwarf-"

"Dwarf?! ESTER! In what realm did you think this was a good idea? I'm immortal, he will live to be about 250 years old or a little older if he's lucky! No, just no!" I interrupt her

"You don't have  choice Erykka, it was decided long ago and cannot be changed. You will marry Fili n that's the end of it. We will be leaving in a week to the Blue mountains to his home to meet him and his family." Alec says

"This is not fair! I don't want to get married, I'm too young!" I say

"No, you're not, you are of age. It's happening, I'm sorry but, it was set up by us, his family and your parents, it was their wish. Erykka, you must for your parents" Ester says

"Fine, I'll do it, but I am in no way happy about it, and I prefer Ekko," I say and storm out.

I wander to the gardens, I sigh and sit on one of the stone benches, why does this have to happen to me? I look up a footsteps approach me, it's my friend Anna, her long red curly hair flowing behind her.

"I just heard the news, it's shocking but that's amazing! You're getting married! You always thought you'd be alone forever, but now you won't" She says smiling as she sits next to me.

"Yeah, I guess you're right but, I don't even know him and he will die eventually and then I'll be alone. But I guess to have memories of those you have loved and lost is perhaps harder than to have no memories at all. I never knew my parents, and it doesn't really affect me, I mean I wish I had known them but if I had losing them would have been harder, but I was just a baby. And if I ever fell in love with Fili, losing him would devastate me." I say

"I know but everything will be ok" She says hugging me.

"I hope you're right"

A Week Later

I finish packing my clothes in bags, there suddenly is a knock at my door.

"Yes?" I call

The door wing open to reveal my aunt, she smile at me as she walks in.

"Ready to go?" She asks

"As ready as I'll ever be" I say as some servants grab my bags

"Let's go" Ester says.

I follow her out to the carriage, Alec is waiting for us.

"Ready?" He asks

I nod glumly, he chuckles and hugs me.

"It'll be alright, I promise Ekko" He says

I smile at him and nod, we all get into the carriage and head off to the Blue Mountains.
