I sat down on my bed, rubbing my forehead. "Been better."
"Where you at?" he asked.
"In my room," I muttered.
There was a pause, then a knock at my door.
I sighed, but I couldn't help the small smirk pulling at my lips. "You ain't even wait for me to say you could come."
Kayden's voice came through the door. "Nigga, open up."
I did. And the second he stepped in, he closed the door behind him and leaned against it. "Luke's onto something," he said. "I don't know what, but I had to get outta there before he pressed me too hard."
I shook my head. "He's suspicious, but he don't know what he's looking for. As long as we keep it cool, we're good."
Kayden studied me for a second, then let out a breath. "You sure? 'Cause I don't know how much longer we can play this game."
I met his gaze. "Then maybe we stop playing."
His brows lifted slightly, like he wasn't expecting that. And honestly? Maybe I wasn't either.
But the thought was there now.
Kayden stood there for a moment, not moving, his eyes still locked on me. It wasn't like before—there was no joke, no easy-going vibe. The tension hung in the air, but there was something else now. Something different.
I stepped toward him, close like that first night, and the air between us seemed to again crackle.
Kayden's eyes flickered to my lips before he reached out and cupped the back of my neck. "What are we doing, Eli?" he asked softly, like he didn't even need to say the words.
I could feel my heart pounding as I moved in, closing the distance between us. The moment our lips met, all the weight from the last few hours seemed to disappear. It was urgent, like we were both trying to prove something. And for a second, I thought about pulling away—but I couldn't I was stuck.
Kayden kissed me like he was starving, and I couldn't let go of him either. His hands moved to my waist, pulling me closer until I could feel the heat radiating off his body. I felt my own breath hitch in my throat, and my hands slid under his shirt, touching the warm skin of his back, pulling him even closer.
Kayden broke the kiss, panting. "You don't want to stop this, do you?" he whispered, his lips brushing against mine.
I shook my head, my voice barely a whisper. "No... I don't."
I leaned in again, my lips crashing against his, more intense this time. I didn't have to think about it. It felt like it was meant to happen, like we were drawn together despite the chaos around us.
His hands slid down my chest, moving lower, and I couldn't help but let out a soft gasp when he found the waistband of my jeans. Without breaking the kiss, he started to work his way lower, his fingers slipping inside the fabric, tracing the line of my waist.
My hands moved to his, stopping him for a second, pulling away from the kiss just enough to look at him.
"What's wrong, Are you sure about this?" He said looking at me cautiously.
I didn't hesitate. "Yes... just you and me, Eli. I want you Right now & and always be mine."
"I thought I was already." He said smirking.
And that was it. No more second-guessing, no more thinking about the consequences. I kissed him again, harder this time, and we moved in sync as our clothes hit the floor, the rest of the world outside fading away.
Luke Moore
I wasn't sure what made me do it. Maybe I wanted to get some clarity. Maybe I needed answers. But something pulled me out of my apartment and across town to Eli's place. Things between us haven't been the same since he transferred and I'm tired of fighting my brother. I'm, tired of this wedge in between us and we need to repair.
Maybe I'm wrong and nothings going on with these two and I'm over analyzing things, whatever it is imma be the bigger person and try and set things right.
When I got to his apartment door I knocked a few times, but there was no answer. I tried the door—it was unlocked. I pushed it open slowly, the last thing on my mind being what I might find inside.
The sound of shuffling footsteps caught my attention, and I turned toward the bedroom just as the door swung open.
And there they were.
Kayden, leaning over Eli, his hands gripping the sheets. Eli's body arched, and the sight hit me like a punch to the gut.
I couldn't breathe for a moment, my chest tightening as I watched the two of them, realizing too late what I'd walked into. My brother. And Kayden. Together.
"I FUCKING KNEW IT!" I yelled as Kayden glanced over at me in the door way.
"Yo, Luke, what the hell—" Kayden started, but it was too late. I had turned and already headed out the door, my mind a whirlwind of confusion and rage.
