1st Chapter

Lauren's POV

Hi I'm Lauren, I am a 24 year old librarian. I work in 'beauteous' a 3 in 1 business, it's a library, a book store and a café all in one. It's very big and beautiful, you can do many things there, such as acquiring books, lending them, the same goes with games, not only board games but also video games, there's something for everyone. Also you can play the PS4 there, the Wii, Wii U, Nintendo, the Xbox, everything your heart desires. Beauteous is French and means magnificent or wonderful, which our little treasure really is. I enjoy working there, it feels more like doing a hobby than actually working. My work place is in Preyston, where I also happen to live. Preyston is a beautiful little town with mysteries and lots of places to explore. I enjoy travelling, reading (wow, who could have guessed that) and cooking. I also love animals, especially dogs and tigers. But since I can't really get myself a tiger as a pet, I've been actually thinking about getting a dog. But I'm not really sure if I can handle that yet, with working full time I don't know if I could have time left for a pet at home, pets are for sure not only there for decoration purposes, you need to feed them, walk them, clean them, clean after them and take care of them and that is not for everyone. Currently I'm on my way to my best friend Dinah. Dinah called me like 2 minutes ago and told me she needed my help. Being the good friend I am, I immediately get on my way.

Dinah told me to meet her at her flat, that she shares with her boyfriend of 8 years, Keith Samruds. Their flat is not too far away from mine, only 2 blocks away to be precise. I enjoyed taking the little walk to their flat to, it was sunny and warm, well it was mid July. I soon reach Keinahs ( their ship name, me and my freinds always make ship names, it's was easier to say 'Let's go meet Keinah' instead of 'Let's go meet Dinah and Keith'. ) flat, I ring the bell and after some seconds the door opens. They live on the third floor and instead of taking the elevator I took the staircase. I was just about to knock as I hear a barking. What? Was that coming from the TV or something? Coming in I instantly get jumped by a barking fluffy Shiba Inu, but wait. Did I mistake the flat? Right then Dinah walks to me so I know I for sure didn't actually mistake the flat for someone elses. But since when did Dinah have a dog? I've never saw one or heard her say she's got one. ''Hey Laur.. can you do me a favor..? please?'', she asked and gave me the dinky puppyeyes. ''My new friend Ally, who has just moved here from Cali is extremely busy right now... She has to unbox and go to some job interviews and she just has literally no time for Oliver at the moment. So she asked me to watch him for today and of course I accepted but I totally forgot that Keith and I have a family dinner today. And we also sadly can't take him with us since you know, my mom is allergic to dogs.. I wanted to ask you if you could maybe watch him today? Not for long I promise.. But just so Keith and I can get back and we don't want the dog to ruin our flat or die or something so could you please please pretty please watch him? Just until 7 PM. Then you can bring him back or we can go and get him. His name is Oliver as you may already heard, he's well behaving and he is very friendly and open, you'll love him. He's practically the dog version of you Laur.'' I was thinking about it.. I wanted to get a dog for quite some time now and this would be a great opportunity and good practice also, I could see if a dog is even the right thing for me. And Oliver is really cute. So far no contras.. ''Mhm I don't know I'd rather spend my day just going out with some friends.'' I say sassily, raising my eyebrows. Maybe I can get myself a favor out of this if I play this smart enough.. I could always use Keith's discount at the boutique.. ''You'll even get something Lauren.. Please, we both know you've always wanted a dog, that's a win-win situation and you know it.'' she replies. ''You're lucky I've got some days off hun.'' I say winking at her. ''THANKS LAUR, I REALLY APPRECIATE IT'', She throws herself at me. ''But seriously here's his Collar and the rest that you could probably need.'' So no discount :(
