Ryland's POV

She may have what? What's she planning to do? She isn't planning on breaking up with me, is she? And why are they so secretive?

Should I break up with her before she breaks up with me? It'll save her the trouble...

Back to the present time, we were all sitting in the living room, my bros, Ratliff and SJ playing video games, Rydel and PJ chit chatting

Me: Penny, may I have a word with you?

PJ: Sure...?

We went into the kitchen which was definitely out of earshot of everyone

I looked at the ground nervously, avoiding any eye contact

Me: Listen, if you don't like me, just go ahead and break up with me

PJ: What? Why in the world won't I like you? And why would I break up with you?

Me: I don't know. It's just that, don't get mad at me. I kinda overheard your conversation with your brother and he said something about running away and then you brought up our relationship...

PJ asked a question or two, prompting me to answer in full detail

PJ: Oh... Is there anything else troubling you of regarding this or linking to this?

I heard her shift her feet a little, out of nervousness I think

Me: Well, it's just that, we get this feeling that you and your brother are hiding something. Not trying to be one of those nosy boyfriends or anything but, relationships have no secrets. It's okay, you can tell me. I won't tell unless you and your bro want me to

PJ: Okay fine. I imprinted on you and there's no way I can leave your side

She said all that in one breath super quickly

Imprinted. That sounds familiar. Wait what?! I look up to find her closing her eyes shut tightly as if expecting to be hit

Me: Oh that's gr- What? For a second there, I thought you quoted a word used by werewolves in Twilight

She finally opened her eyes and relaxed. Looking me in the eyes to assure me that she spoke the truth

PJ: That's cuz I did. Ever wonder why my bro and I never lose our tempers? Or when we do, we disappear into the woods or something?

I opened my mouth to say something but she interrupted me

PJ: Oh wait that hasn't happened around you guys YET

Me: So what you're trying to say is... That you're a werewolf?

PJ: Yep. And so is my brother

Me: Cool... Prove it. Not that I don't believe you, I just wanna see for myself

PJ: Okay if you insist. Oh and by the way, we don't really have a dog

Me: What do you-

I gasped in shock when PJ disappeared and Chloe, supposedly their murderer of a dog, took her place

It took me a while to get out of my shocked state and even out my breathing again

Me: So what you're saying is, that dog we saw that day and petted at the park was you? And that same dog who ripped that man's head off was you?

PJ: Yes. Oh and one more thing, that wasn't any ordinary man, that was a vampire

I opened my mouth and closed it again and threw PJ a confused look

PJ: My family, the Chesires, which now the only ones who are alive are me and my bro. The rest were all murdered in the fight against the vampires, the Van Heusens. So now they're after us. They obviously found out about us

Me: Wow...

That was a lot to absorb in. My girlfriend is a werewolf! Sweet!

PJ: And also, I understand if you want me and my bro to pack up and leave now cuz we're kinda putting you guys in danger yet I can't leave you cuz I imprinted on you

Me: Why would I want you to leave? You're my soul mate

PJ: Whoa man, you're so deep I can't see you. Thanks. Just don't tell anyone until my bro and I are ready

Me: You can trust me

How cool is that? 5 years or more down the road, we'll have little werewolves running around our backyard

PJ: Oh and by the way, werewolves can read each other's minds and apparently, my bro and I have an additional ability to read anyone else's mind

I turned a bright shade of red immediately, knowing she might've heard what I was thinking cuz she was smirking at me

Well, that was certainly interesting. I'm shocked yet glad. I'm in on the secret and now I know that Penelope Jean Chesire is my soulmate...
