Chapt.4-If Nothing Goes Right, Go Left

Great.

I covered my ears with my hands and walked further away from that room. What do I do now?! I can't just barge in, but I'm sure as hell not leaving until I'm the only Shea Smith under this roof. Okay... Uh.... Let's just wait it out. The baby making should eventually stop sometime...

I cautiously walked into the room next door, so I could hear when the... 'Activities' stop.Unlike the dining room, this room was barely settled in; A queen sized mattress adorned with grass green sheets and an antique dresser were the only things in here.

On the side, there was a built in bathroom and I wondered in there, snatching up a towel, drying myself from my previous dip in the pool, then I wrapped it around my head.

A glance in the mirror told me I looked absolutely ridicilous, but at least it blocked out most of the noise of the room next door. Well, not before heard a whiny girl voice say, 'Are you even trying?!'

I smothered my laughter in a feather filled pillow and that's the last thing I remembered before I dozed off.

"What the fuck."

My eyes shot open and I scrambled up, tossing the silly towel of off my head in the process. I looked at who the voice belonged to and I immediately threw the towel at him.

"I could say the exact same thing! Cute how you tried to abandon me, huh? Too bad I cared about my freaking IDENTITY too much to stay stranded!"

Red Hood rolled his eyes. "Listen, I didn't mean to do this to you-"

I interrupted him. "Do what? Which part? You didn't mean to hit on me, or leave me in a foreign state, or take my name and money?! Really, I'd love to know which one means more to you."

"Listen, I just dialed a random number and I'm sorry it was you okay?" Red Hood said defensively. "Most people don't.. Track me down, so it's usually no harm, no foul right?"

I can't believe it. This moron thinks it's okay to steal people's lives as long as no one spills blood. "Harm? Listen, I'm rich so it doesn't matter. But what if I was a single pregnant lady with terrible insurance? Huh? What then? Is that still 'no harm'?" I was practically shrieking now, and I could feel my face hot from the blood rushing to my cheeks.

"Calm down! Damn. What do you want me to do? Cut off from your credit cards? Fine, I can do that," He said, pulling out his Lacoste wallet. (That was probably bought with MY money)

I breathed in and out deeply, trying to calm myself down, forcing myself to think logically and  to go over my planned script. "No. I mean, yes, but not yet. My dad thinks that I'm the one spending a ton of money and I need you to fly to California with me and confess to him that you were the one who did it. No cops. Just my father. Then you can cut the card, I'll even pay for your flight back to Florida, and you and I can both go off on our own lives. Deal?" I explained all of this in one big breath.

Red Hood, I noticed now was actually wearing a blue T-Shirt (Damn, I was getting used to calling him 'Red Hood'), furrowed his eyebrows, debating. His eyes flickered, dark brown conflicting with teal and his hands shook. "No cops," he said finally. "None."

"None," I whispered, not trusting myself to lie in my actual voice. Please buy it, please believe me, don't see that I'm lying, I repeated over and over again.

"Get in the car," he sighed reluctantly after what seemed like ten years.

I blinked, trying to hide my excitement. "Uh... It's like, nine o' clock."

"Well, we can drive until we get tired and then we can get a hotel okay?" He rolled his eyes. "Besides, I believe you should be well rested after napping on my grandma's bed."

"I'd say sorry, but that's the least you could do after all you've done to me," I sassed, pushing past him and walking down the stairs. I heard an echo following me,or perhaps it was Red Hood.

When I got to the bottom, I turned left, heading towards the exit, wherever that may be. Red Hood turned me around and headed right, agitating me to a certain extent.

"You have a really bad sense of direction," Red Hood remarked with a stupid smirk.

"No, it's just that I've always been told, 'if nothing goes right, go left'," I quipped.

That shut him right up.
