These Core Memories are very important memories because they power an Island of Personality. During the movie Sadness was able to create a core memory but blue in color Joy tried to put it to Long Term but both Sadness and Joy were sucked out of headquarters. At the end of the movie they were able to create more core memories but with two emotions.
