Merlin: Enemy from within (Sequel to the return of Morgana)

Chapter one: Your father made you the prat

"Arthur have you got training this afternoon?" Merlin asked.

"I do but it is only me and Gwaine today so if you wish to have the afternoon off you can,"said Arthur.

"Do you mean you are giving me the afternoon off to practice my spells?"

"I would never do such a thing and allow anyone to practice spells within Camelot," smiled Arthur.

"Oh right yeah afternoon off in my bedroom doing nothing sounds like fun,"?laughed Merlin as Arthur pulled out his keys to unlock the door.

Merlin made sure no one was around before he whispered a spell and the door unlocked before Arthur got a chance to put the key in the door.

"I wish you wouldn't do that," said Arthur as he pushed open his door and Merlin followed him.

"Why? Its priceless seeing that look on your face," laughed Merlin as he closed the door behind him.

"I am glad you find it funny Merlin, at least one of us can have a laugh."

"Oh Arthur lighten up it is not like anyone saw me using my magic I made sure no one was around," said Merlin with a sad expression.

"I suppose you are right."

Arthur went and sat behind his desk picking up papers and beginning to look at them while Merlin looked around wondering if there was anything he could do.

He had not cleaned the floor for a while but he did not fancy doing that right now but he might not have a choice in the matter.

Arthur looked up to spot Merlin looking around the room before he grinned, "My clothes need to be cleaned there in that pile over there," pointed Arthur to a pile hiding behind his screen.

"Why did you leave them there? You need to leave them somewhere where I can actually see them," said Merlin as he moodily stormed over to the screen picking up the pile of clothes and frowning.

"What is your problem," said Arthur smiling as he put one of the papers down and picking up another.

"Oh I don't know Arthur maybe it is the fact that these clothes smell like they have not been washed for months," said Merlin.

"Oh do not be so dramatic it's been a week at the most, " said Arthur putting his attention back to his paper work.

Merlin gave Arthur the look that meant he was clearly not impressed with him before heading towards the exit of the chamber.

"Once you are done with that you can have the rest of the day off. I see nothing else you can really do," said Arthur blankly.

"Oh well I will see you tomorrow than Arthur," said Merlin as he got to the door but clearing knowing it was going to be a problem to open the door with his hands fall of clothes.

Merlin whispered a spell and the door opened on its own and as Merlin left the room he made the door close on its own he heard Arthur shout, "You are such an idiot!"

Merlin ignored the comment and went on his way heading off to get Arthur's clothes done but what Arthur had forgot was Merlin would have to come back to drop the clothes off.

Gwaine's POV

Gwaine was waiting for Arthur as he was having a training session with him on his own today. Arthur and Gwaine had got a little closer since finding out at the same time about Merlin's powers

It had come as a shock to both of them that Lancelot had known ever since he had met Merlin but they had not.

When it came down to Arthur knowing about the magic Arthur understood because of his father hating magic and therefore Arthur hated magic too. It was clear Merlin had been afraid that if Merlin told Arthur too soon he would have been sentenced too death.

However Gwaine felt a little let down to the fact that Merlin had never trusted him with the secret when Merlin was pretty much his only friend.

Merlin had to bare a secret for so long but now he had not only Gaius and Lancelot he had Arthur as well as Gwaine.

Gwaine and Arthur hoped with them getting closer they would both make sure that Merlin's secret is never found out by Uther or they would fight to make sure Merlin got out of Camelot before that happened.

Gwaine knew as well as Arthur that they make sure that was there last option but if it happened they would both miss Merlin too much to even discuss and if it came down to it they would leave alongside Merlin.

"Sorry I am late Gwaine. I am normally use to Merlin carrying my armour but since I gave him the afternoon off I had to do it," said Arthur clearly not to fond of this to happen too often.

"Oh giving our little warlock some time to practice then?" asked Gwaine with a grin.

"Merlin does not like being called little," smirked Arthur.

"We best not tell him then. Just between me and you?" laughed Gwaine.

"I'll watch it about talking about warlocks, magic and Merlin," said Lancelot as he approached them.

"What are you doing here?" asked Gwaine and Arthur at the same time.

"I am sorry but your training session has to be cancelled two men just showed up with a woman. They are visiting and your father wishes you to great them with him," said Lancelot.

"Oh just great and I gave Merlin the afternoon off," said Arthur as they followed Lancelot back towards the castle.

"I could go fetch him," said Lancelot.

"I cannot do that, he is my best friend and I gave him the day of to practice his spells," said Arthur in a whisper.

"I thought I never hear you say that," laughed Gwaine.

"What about him practicing his spells?" said Arthur.

"Oh no, to hear you say he is your best friend and you cannot do that to Merlin. I thought I never see the day for you to think about Merlin you normally do not care," said Gwaine as he stayed away from Arthur.

"Now that is just unfair....but I suppose you are right. I never saw how much Merlin really means to me and what he does for me until he nearly died," said Arthur

"It is normally like that but who can blame you. Your father made you the prat," laughed Gwaine as he sped away adding on, "Meet you there."

Sorry this took me longer then I thought it would have to get it up

Next chapter will prob not be up for a while as i got all my others to do first
