Chapter One
-Different-

The stench of blood filled the wooden hut as serval children sat around the family table banging their knives and forks impatiently. A pot sat at the end of the table, a dismembered arm sticking out, the closest child tried to grab it before the womanly figure swatted their hand away.

❝Nate as the oldest, you get to eat first,❞ She pointed the arm at the oldest sitting at the end of the table uninterested. He looked at at the pot and was almost sick, the sight of the dismembered arm and serval body parts cooked in blood terrified him, quickly Nate slapped a hand over his mouth, he felt sick.

This was every night of his life, he had to face his fear, his stomach was eating away at him inside, however he ignored it. Politely he turned down his mother. ❝you're weird,❞ One of his many siblings shoved him playfully.

Nate quickly dismissed himself and ran to the bathroom, where he vomited. The male felt pain but he couldn't talk to anyone about it, his family were worried about him as it was, he never ate or joined in their human hunting. He looked at himself in the mirror, where is family had rotting yellowish flesh Nate had heathy glowing human flesh, his dark hair falling down his face almost covering his glasses.

❝Is he really our brother?❞ The second youngest child asked, their skin just newly rotting, lips torn back, a finger nail hanging off their mouth. Sadly the mother nodded.

Nate sighed heavily, his reflection resembled a normal mortal not a cannibal, plus his fear of meat didn't help.

The male gripped his phone tightly the only link he had with humanity, he sighed heavily. He didn't want to live with these monsters, he didn't want to be the monster they expected him to be.

His mother knocked on the bathroom door, a sharp harsh knock no comfort in the sound. His heart skipped a beat in worry slowly he opened the door and once more the stench of blood filled his nose, he swallowed his vomit. A ladle was swung over her shoulder.

❝Nate I've been thinking and maybe you should go down to the village enrol in their school for a while, then my son you can gain an taste for mere mortals.❞

The cannibal son looked at her and cocked his head to the side but slowly he nodded, he had a chance to escape this hellhole.

❝Okay Nate you can go tomorrow, your father and I were talking about this for a while. You are a disgrace to the Sharp name, I want you to bring victims from your school up here no matter how long it takes.❞

Family never changes, Nate nodded obediently afraid to say anything in case the swallowed vomit makes a reappearance.

His mother gestured for him to go to his room, which he did quite gladly.

Luckily the male had his own room but the floorboards still stunk of blood and vomit. It wasn't pleasant in the slightest. He groaned and ran a hand through his dark hair adjusting his glasses so he could see. Under his bed he found a box of strawberries that had one day been left at the foot of the hill. Maybe a peace offering? Either way Nate had taken them.

❝I can't wait to escape this place❞ He mumbled to himself biting into a strawberry the flavours were indescribable, he hadn't eaten in forever his stomach caved inwards slightly begging for more cautiously he took one more strawberry before pushing the box back under his bed.

He glanced around his room, his brother's and sister's room were covered in blood and meat photos of meat and diagrams on how to eat a human alive. His however was coated in posters he'd found of horror games and animes. A small smile found its way onto his face maybe he could find a friend who had the same interests as him.

The idea filled Nate with determination, he got to his feet and pretended to be talking with a human.

❝Hey my name is Nathan Sharp, but call me Nate.❞

He shook his head that was the introduction he wanted.

❝Greeting I'm Nate.❞

Nope sounded to much like an alien.

❝The name's Nathan Sharp - Nate.❞

Nope that wasn't it either. This was difficult he groaned and flopped onto his bed again. Sighing heavily.

There was one thing that could maybe help him, a device he believed the humans call a phone, he reached out and grabbed it tightly, he clicked on this thing called Google and searched, 'how to introduce yourself to new people'

Many websites flashed up on the screen each one he searched through gave him a different answer until he found, 'How to make friends if you're different from others'

The website was full of ways to make friends but the number one rule was to act confident even if you weren't.

The brunet nodded to himself, ❝I can do that.❞

He was away to attempt to sleep when there was a brash knock on his door, rolling his eyes the male opened it to see one of his little sister's standing in the doorway, Morgan. She let out a small giggle and hugged Nate tightly, Morgan saw her brother has some type of hero even though he didn't eat meat. She had something in her hands. Nate raised an eyebrow at her, Morgan giggled in reply.

❝I found these clothes in the burn near our home I thought seeing as your going away for a while you might like them,❞ She smiled widely at her brother who hugged her close.

❝Thanks Morgan that means a lot to me, I'm going to miss you so much.❞ That wasn't a lie he was going to miss his little sister she was the only one that seemed to care about him in their family. Despite the blood stench that made Nate want to be sick for like the fifth time that night he kissed the top of his sister's head and smiled a single tear rolled down his cheek. The little girl smiled at her brother and left the room after giving him the clothes.

He unfolded the present seeing a Fnaf t-shirt and dark skinny jeans. Nate couldn't help but smile, he'd fallen in love with that indie horror game. It had already been downloaded to the phone when he'd found it on one of the victims, a ten year old boy. The boy had already been dead but Nate had taken what he could before he was sick all over the newly dead boy.

Nate hung his head in respect for the boy, he did this for every victim of his family.

Morgan was to innocent to pure to understand what she was doing was wrong, to her it wasn't wrong it was how she grew up.

The carnophobic teenager shook his head and instead tried on the clothes his younger sister had given him, a little tight but they would do perfectly better then anything else he owned.

Trainers lay under his bed muddy and wrecked but otherwise suitable, he pulled a backpack out from his closet and threw in a few human devices like a muddy book on 'gaming' and a crayon. His phone and the strange wire things which had came with them, that seemed about right.

Tried and excited he threw himself onto his bed hearing it creak as usual and lay back shutting his eyes, ready for whatever tomorrow night bring.
