"Shit, this is bad." I said to my companion. We were in the middle of the forest, I was bleeding out, and we were both starving and dehydrated.
"Trix, I don't think I'm going to make it much further." I said to her. I fell to my knees, out of breath and completely drained of all physical and magical energy. Trixie and I had run into a Holy Knight that recognized me from my home country, Araidium. Since there was only one, we thought we could take him. But it turned out he wasn't alone. He had about 8 other buddies at a camp nearby. Trixie, luckily, walked away with only a few cuts. I got the worse of the beating. My short, brown hair was stained and clumped with my own blood. My vision began to blur a little.
"Hey," she put her front paws on my knees. "don't give up just yet. I think I smell something."
"Your appetite alarm isn't my top priority right now. I'm hungry too." I said in minor annoyance.
"No, not that, well yes that. I smell food and booze. I think there's a tavern not too far from here. Do you think you can make it a few more miles?" She asked looking North of where we were. I nodded and slowly stood up. We walked for about 2 more hours until we made it to a clearing. We could have been there a lot sooner if I had any stamina left. There was a nice looking tavern a couple hundred yards away on the top of a hill, overlooking a small town. I took another step before I fell to my knees in pain. The Holy Knights had gouged a decent sized hole in my side. Most people would be dead by now.
"Erry come on, we're almost there. Try to hang on!" the small, black cat said worriedly. Her green eyes were the last thing I saw.
Trixie's POV
I ran as fast as I could to the nearby tavern. The sign on it read 'The Boar's Hat'. I rushed inside, looking for anyone that could help. There were three men at the bar and one, serving them drinks. Just as I was about to run up to them, a small pig came up to me.
"Hey what's the big idea, buddy?" he said. I simply laughed.
"You know, I could eat you. But I don't have time for that right now. If you'd excuse me." I jumped over the pig and ran up to the bar. A tall man with spikey white hair stood up and saw me.
"Oh, hey there little guy. Ya hungry?" he picked me up and set me down on the bar.
"Ban, do you really think it's a good idea to feed a stray cat?" a boy with red hair, sitting next to him said. That voice, why is that so familiar? Anyways.
"Listen, as hungry as I am, now isn't the time! My friend is dying and I need help." I'm starting to get frustrated. She could already be dead by now.
"Wait, now there's TWO talking animals?" Ban sounded confused and a bit scared, but oh well. The four men followed me to the edge of the woods where my dying friend lay. She seemed to be regaining consciousness.
"Hey, can you hear me?" Ban said while gently nudging her face. She nodded in response, but no words were formed. The blonde haired boy examined her wounds.
"How is she even alive?" He asked. They took her back to the tavern, but once we got there, it's like a wave of excruciating pain rushed through her body. She started screaming out in pain. The boy with pink hair, I think someone called him Gowther earlier, put his finger up to her neck and a small light went into her and just like that, she was calm.
"Hmm, it seems that whatever was used to create such a wound was poisoned to a certain extent." He sounded so mechanical.
"What extent would that be, exactly?" the boy with red hair asked. I looked over at him. He seemed familiar somehow. And the way he was looking at Erry makes me think he knew her as well. He looks as if he was angry that she was hurt.
"All it does is amplify the pain of the injury as time goes on, but that part is over now." He spoke as he cleaned his glasses.
"Is there anything you can do to help her wound?" I sat on the table next to her and starred down.
"All she needs is rest." The familiar man said quietly as he picked her up and floated upstairs. Who is he?
Eruvanda's POV
The flames were spreading out of control. The people, my people, were screaming. The children were crying over their lifeless parents. The whole city was in ruins. We fought for days and as our numbers decreased, theirs increased.
"Fall back! There's too many! Eruvanda, FALL BACK!" I heard my father yelling. As I turned around, I saw that man.
"Father behind you!" I rushed to him but I was too late..
I shot up out of bed, sweat dripping down my face. I sighed as I looked around. Where am I? How did I get here? Where are my swords and more importantly, where's my cat? I got out of bed and made my way downstairs. There, I saw Trixie eating like the Queen of Cats. I chuckled and pet her on the head. When she saw me, she jumped in my arms.
"Oh thank goodness! You've been asleep for days! I thought you were dead. Don't EVER scare me like that again!" she purred and meowed to show that she was happy to see me.
"Glad to see you're finally awake." A familiar voice rings from behind me. I spun around and dropped Trixie. She meows angrily and runs back to her food.
"K-King ?" I can't believe it's really him.
"Hello, Eruvanda." He smiled at me and shot me a flirtatious wink. I ran up to him and hugged him.
"I thought I'd never see you again! Don't you ever disappear like that again!" Tears started forming in my eyes as he stopped me.
"Hey, don't get yourself too worked up, okay? It hasn't been that long since I've seen you, right?" He laughed lightly as he ran his hand through his hair.
"You do know it was fifty years, right?" I know that look of his. He knows exactly how long its been. I decided to drop it for now and introduce myself to everyone.
"My name is Eruvanda, and I'm not exactly from around here, so forgive me if my customs do not match your own."
"No kidding, say, what are you doing in Britania anyways? Last I saw you, you and your brothers were kicking ass on the battlefield in Araidium." King took a sip of his drink and Meliodas, the boy with blonde hair, handed me my own. "And what happened that gave you the nasty gash?"
"Well, you're the first familiar face I've seen that hasn't tried to kill me. And as for what happened in Araidium," I chuckled lightly. "all in due time." Just then, 3 women walked in the door and joined in on our conversations. As we all got acquainted with one another, King came up to me and pulled me aside. He handed me my swords and he gave me some money.
"King, you don't have to do this." I said as I tried to give him back the money.
"I know I don't have to, Eruvanda. But I want to." I smiled and hugged him tight once more. After a while of chatting, I learned that these people, excluding Princess Elizabeth, were the Seven Deadly Sins. I already knew King was but I had no idea the others were still alive. We all got drunk, shared our stories, laughed and talked until the wee hours of the morning. I was having so much fun, I almost forgot why I'm in this country in the first place. I found Trixie cornering Hawk, that cute little piggy, threatening to eat him. I picked her up and carried her away from everyone else for a moment.
"We leave after everyone goes to bed." I whispered and put her down. She nodded and ran back to torment that poor pig.
