Birthday Blues

* Amy's point of view*
Today I woke up before Sonic I wanted to do something nice for him. Like he does for me I went down stairs " good morning" I beamed only Tails was downstairs " morning Amy"'he smiled I had breakfast " umm Tails do you if Sonic had a birthday or something?" I asked " yeah uhh actually his birthday is today "he said . W- what his birthday is today and he didn't say anything I thought in my head " why?" Tails asked " I don't know maybe we could throw a party for him" I smiled " that's not the best idea" he said but I ignored him I wanted To do something nice for Sonic .

I ran upstairs and locks our bedroom door so Sonic wouldn't be able to come out when he woke up. I ran down stairs and proceeded to bake a cake with the new materials they bought yesterday. Just when I put the cake in the oven. Sonic woke up I knew this because he kept on knocking on the door say " let me out!" Or " come on Ames this isn't funny" I giggled at his attempts the oven binged and I took out the cake and decorated it. We didn't have party supplies so I figured a cake was enough. I walk upstairs with the cake in my hand I unlock the door allowing Sonic to leave he saw me and pouted " what was that for?" He asked

I giggles " well I couldn't let you ruin the surprise though I don't understand why you didn't tell me" " woah tell you want" he asked with a smile " today's your birthday!" I beamed the smile on his face disappeared and a hurt expression came across his face " I don't want to talk about this" he said." What why not?" I asked he grabbed my hand gently " please Amy I don't want to talk about it" he said his voice sounding quiet. I felt hurt he didn't trust me enough to tell me why.

I pulled my hand out of his grip then pushed him aside " fine! If you just wanna throw my nice gesture back in my face go ahead be my guest I don't care anymore y- you jerk!" I yelled at him as I slammed the door I felt tears rush to my eyes as I rested the cake on the dressing table. Then jumped on my bed and cried. A few minutes later I settled down I heard a knock at the door " if your anyone other than Sonic feel free to come in" I say, the door opened it was Tails " I heard the commotion" he said " the reason why we didn't say anything about Sonic's birthday it's because it was his death day and many others he had to sacrifice himself to save the others" he stated " I know how Sonic is he'll beat himself up over and over because of this incident" he stated

My eyes widened I had no idea that's why he didn't want to celebrate his birthday and I yelled at him for no reason. I felt awful. Tails left the room. I wanted to apologize to Sonic.

*Sonic's point of view*
" I could have saved them, but I didn't. They didn't deserve to day if was the hero and it was my duty to protect them,but I failed them I failed each and everyone of them I'm no hero I'm just a sorry excuse of one" I said to myself. My ear started to twitch as I heard the door open my eyes didn't move from the floor. Amy sat next to me " I'm sorry" I said.

*Amy's point of view*
I left the room I looked around and saw Sonic sitting by the wall his emerald eyes didn't look the same they were no longer calm and collected they looked heart broken and full of pain as they stared at the floor I saw his ear twitched so he knew I as there I sat down next to him " I'm sorry" I heard Sonic say I looked at him in disbelief he had nothing to be sorry for it was me " why are you apologizing I'm the one should be sorry" I say " I'm sorry for what I said I didn't mean anything I said" I say sadly. He stopped looking at the floor and his gaze went to me " I know " he smiled at me his smile was so warm compared to what I knew he was feeling " but I should be sorry for making your effort feel like nothing" he said his gaze shooting back on the floor

" but, I guess I really am a jerk people died because of me I'm no hero." He said .I felt a rush of anger get to me as I grabbed his face and made him look at me " Hey I don't ever wanna here you talk about yourself like that again you had no choice you tried your best besides you'll always be a hero to me but not just to me to everyone else" I said sternly as I smiled his emerald eyes turned bright again and became calm and collected and frown turned into a bright smile " thanks Ames!" He beamed as I pulled him into a hug.
