"Hurry up Kid" Selina called to him.  They were currently trying to out-run a group of up-to-no-good teenagers who were chasing after them.

And why you ask? Well, why don't you ask Selina?  It always seems to be her fault, and this time it truely was.

She thought it would be humorous if she tried to steal from them, a bunch of physio, orphaned kids who live on the streets, with all the other homeless crazies.

And not only that, she also thought it would be SOOO much more fun to drag him along with her. Because apparently she thought he was the super hero this sick town needed to save everyone and she was going to train him.  Good luck with that.

So that's why currently Selina was literally dragging him down the darkest alleyways that semi-existed in Gotham.  She was pulling him so hard he felt like his arm was going to be pulled out of socket, and it hurt, bad.

Ok, so lets pause the scene.  I know you're all most likely wondering, "Why write this story, Writer?" Well you see, that's the thing.  We all know that they end up together.  You can read the comics, look it up on the web, and even watch The Dark Knight Rises with Christian Bale and Anne Hathaway.  But who else has ever wondered this complex thought?  What happened in between birth and rebirth as the biggest and best, respected superhero and most cunning and calculative supervillain the dark, murky city of Gotham had ever witnessed?  They both became HUGE people that everyone in Gotham seemed to know about.  The citizens of that great city either shook in fear at the mention of one of their names or they slept soundly in beds at night just knowing someone that was good was out there watching over them.  And that's how my story was born.  Will it be great like Batman or will it be dark like Catwoman.  Only time will tell, but for now let's watch Bruce and Selina.  But this time, it's Selina's turn to shine.

"Bruce", I yelled, that slow, slow-poke could not keep up for the life of him,"You have to keep up or you WILL be murder by the savages!"

Why couldn't he just be normal?  No, he was rich, smart, nice, kind, caring, cute--I mean adorable, not hot or anything like that.  Her mind kept telling her,"Oh yeah, sure,  like you don't like the hot billionaire that you are currently hauling down this very alleyway.  No not that one."

"Be quiet" Selina said to herself.  But what she forgot to do was say it in her head, not out loud, and it was very loud.

"What did you say Selina?" Bruce asked sweetly.  To be honest he looked a little spooked that she just hollered "Be quite" to herself when they hadn't even talked for 5 minutes.  All they were doing was running, and maybe in a lot of different senses.

Maybe they were running from the past, running from memories that they didn't want to remember.  Maybe they were running from themselves, running from the demons threatening to break through and expose the real them that live in the inside.  And maybe they were running from each other, running from the feeling that an invisible force was somehow throwing them into each others' lives. Or they were just running from the crazy savages that Selina provoked.

When they finally reached Wayne Manor, Selina said her goodbyes and left.  No, actually she made sure that Bruce was still breathing and he was alright, and then as soon as that was confirmed and he turned around, she left.

She was like a cold breeze.  One moment you feel her there and you enjoy her, but then when you turn around, she's gone.  Just like that.

But Bruce knew the drill. So he picked himself up, walked past the pool onto the deck and walked inside the big, empty house.

"Did you have a bad day Master Bruce?  Were you out with Miss Kyle again?  What did you do today? Did she drag you into a lot of trouble? Are you okay Master Bruce?" Alfred was genuinely worried, he always was,  but Bruce wasn't up for talking right now.

"I'm fine Alfred.  I'll take my dinner in the study tonight if that's no trouble." Bruce replied sleepily. He had a long and trying day.

All he wanted to do was go upstairs, take a bath, put on some warm clothes, and wait for that wonderful breeze to fly past him again.  He didn't know how long he would have to wait, but he did know he would wait as long as it takes.
