🔨 Chapter 1: How to Make A Wand 🔨

"It's so heavy!" I whined as I lagged behind Ella who just grinned not even bothering to turn around.

We were now heading towards the canteen after I'd just got my book. Ella was hurrying me up so much complaining about her hunger that I hadn't even had the chance to flick through my book. Talking about book, I'd just realised how heaven it really was, I think I was actually developing muscles by carrying its weight.

I'd probably need to start doing ab workouts so the muscles don't look out of place. I thought, but the shook my head. I don't have time fore that! Got a concentrate on carrying this book without having my arms drop off.

"I wish that even though this book is heavy, it's weight would be for me, easy." I complained. Huh, that rhymed...and it was also very formal.

Seconds later, as if by magic, the book felt as light as a beach ball. My eyebrows scrunched up as we went through the canteen doors.

"Stop complaining." Ella said with a roll of her eyes. I threw the book up slightly and caught it with ease. I think I just grew some body strength in like two minutes.

We got our lunch and went over to our table, which was already filled with Jayden and Cali. Jayden and Cali are very close friends of ours, not as close as I am with Ella, but close nevertheless.

"Hey?" Cali waved confusion swirling in her eyes when she saw the book I was carrying, that now seemed to be no problem for my feeble arms.

"Hi." I chuckled, "Aparantly I need to learn how to improve my spelling and grammar." I explained turning the book over so she could see the title. She made an 'O' shape with her mouth while bobbing her head up and down in understanding.

"Soooo," Cali drawls out causing Jayden, Ella and I to look at each other wearily, "I was wondering since your all such awesome friends, you'd help little ol' me out?"

"How so?" Jayden questioned his eyes narrowing. Cali's idea of helping her out always ended up with one of us either extremely muddy or unconscious.

"I have to write a report about the Football team and how their tryouts go, so I was hopping if you guys could come with me after school to the tryouts next Monday to Friday?" Cali said, hope evident in her eyes. Cali was a reporter for our school newspaper and wrote the sports section. Although she didn't like playing sports, her having two older Soccer loving brothers meant that she new mostly anything about Football.

"Well I'll already be there since I'm trying out." Jayden said with a shrug. Jayden had been on the team last year because coach said he 'had what it takes', so I'm guessing he enjoyed his experience and wants to go for it again.

"Ooh, watching guys get all sweaty!" Ella said with a huge grin, then all of a sudden her grin dropped and her features became monotone. "I'd rather not have my nose dead." she said. I rolled my eyes.

"We'll come. Just as long as it finishes before the late bus leaves." I bargained causing Cali to nod vigorously. Ella didn't protest and just sighed beginning to eat her sandwich.

The rest of lunch went by as normal, all of messing around and talking about random things. The day rolled on and soon enough, we were home.

"Guess I'm sleeping over at yours then." Ella said as she walked through the front doors to my house holding a letter in her hand.

"Sure, but why?" I mean, I didn't really need a reason, but the letter in Ella's hand seemed to be the cause of her decision.
