Where Niall is trying to handle Zayn leaving the band and all that comes with it.

//

Y/N' S  POV

When Zayn left the band, Niall silently dwelled over it. He didn't show his emotions to the fans and the public because Niall did not want any havoc.

But that was really difficult for him.

After all, he can't just pretend that one of his greatest friends for 5 years didn't exist. The other boys seemed fine with that, though, and it made his skin crawl.

Only Liam would text Zayn in the beginning of the situation, and that was just for a while until Liam just stopped answering all in all. Harry and Louis never bothered.

Louis somewhat forgave Zayn for the rude tweet he had sent, but still has the grudge held against him.

I could tell that Louis couldn't believe that Zayn was acting this way after the years they spent being so close. Louis once told me that it was Zayn's choice to quit the band to attempt to act like a "normal 22 year old" only for it to be a lie.

Zayn obviously didn't want that. He wanted to go solo, and that's what hurt the boys the most, I believe.

They thought that he was leaving because he no longer enjoyed it. . . But no, Zayn wanted to start his own career without his brothers.

Niall was the only one that didn't have such harsh feelings for Zayn—of course, he didn't agree with what Zayn did, but he learned to forgive him. He couldn't bring himself to get into contact, though.

The first week Zayn left, Niall was an outright mess.

He was so worried about what the fans were thinking, and how the media was going to pursue it, so Niall never thought about himself; it was always about everyone else.

I was a big fan of the boys before I met Niall, but I didn't let the departure get to me much because I needed to be strong for Niall at that point.

There was while where he couldn't even be on Twitter without freaking out and having a small panic attack. . . Niall didn't want his dream to be over at all.

When he delivered the news to me, I was heartbroken, but I didn't let it show. I knew that Niall was crushed, his eyes glossing over with tears at the sentence that slipped off his tongue, and his demeanor falling apart. I just quietly took him in my arms and let him sob into my neck.

For the first two months he was in a state of denial. He didn't want to realize what had happened. But later, he had learned to deal with it and live out his dream like he always does.

After the truth behind Zayn's departure was revealed, Niall was pissed and hurt to say the least.

He felt betrayed and backstabbed, along with the rest of the boys. Niall couldn't comprehend what Zayn did—he didn't want to in a way.

Because of this Niall and I spent our nights ranting about the situation, sharing our opinions and relieving ourselves of the stress.

Niall expressed to me how he felt and why---me doing the same.

We cuddled when he couldn't handle his emotions, and we laughed at jokes that we shared to attempt to forget about the situation for a moment.

But this did bring us closer together. Niall and I spent our hours in each other's arms, exchanging kisses and loving words.

Now, he and I are inseparable.
