I've never been like the rest. I live in a world where everyone sees in shades of black and white until they meet their soulmate. But I, Jonathan, have always been able to see the colors that surround me. Maybe there's a glitch in my brain, I've always been different than everyone else in my town. I see every color and every shade. I've always been worried that I don't have a soulmate, since I can already see the colors of the world.

Growing up I was never good at making friends due to my diverse personality. The only true friend I had and still have is Evan. I'm a few years older than him, yet he's a few inches taller than me. He always teases me about our height difference, I am a little short for my age standing at 5'5. Evan has always been there for me. I don't even remember how we met, he just kind of showed up in my life and we've been best friends since then. I'm glad he's still here, I can say that I truly love him...As a friend, of course.

"Evan, you cheated!" I whined, looking up at him as I lost yet another round of Rocket League to him.

"I did not, kid." Evan chuckled, looking down at me.

"I am not a kid, you ass! I'm older than you." I pouted, crossing my arms.

"Yeah, but I'm about five inches taller than you~" He hummed out.

"Whatever," I replied lying back on the bed. "..Evan," He hummed in response. "Do you see it, too?" I questioned.

"See what?" He asked, quirking an eyebrow.

"The..The colors..." I said quietly

"Yeah, I do. Why?" He looked down at me.

He saw them, too? DId he meet his soulmate? "What's her name?"

"Whose name, Jonathan?" I just looked at him. Who did he think I was talking about?

"Your soulmate, duh." I chuckled softly, but stopped when he just looked at me.

"I don't know. I've always been able to see the colors."
"Oh..Me too," I looked up at him, he seemed like he was thinking deeply. "What's on your mind?" I questioned the taller boy.

"You."

"Me..?"

"Yeah, you."

"Um..Why me exactly?"

"Jonathan..What if we're soulmates?"

"Pft, yeah right. That would make us gay!" He rolled my eyes at that response and said "So?"

"I'm not gay, Evan-"

"Maybe you should recheck your sexuality, because I've noticed the way you look at me sometimes," I just sat there quietly, gazing at the ground. "don't worry, I've always felt that way about you.."

My head snapped up and I looked at him, a blush and a small smile forming on my face. "Really, Ev?"

Instead of a reply I was pulled into a gentle kiss, his arms wrapped around my waist. I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him, my soulmate back.

Maybe I am gay after all.
