You needed me
A hand to hold
A shoulder to lean on
A soul to guide you
Arms to hold you
I was your perfect release
An exception to the rule
When you felt unloved
I was there
To fill the void
I took up the missing moments
Moments once spent with her
Shedding our secrets
Bearing our souls
I never knew myself so well
As I did with you
But slowly she creeped
Jealousy sparked into action
Hurried pace back into your heart
Slow movements into your bed
Patiently I waited
Quietly I watched
You said that things were better
She changed .. a new start
In my darkness I resigned
Picking up my shattered heart
Piece by piece
You asked me for my friendship
I gave you my hate
Pieces bathed in blood
I could not put back together again
