Chapter 2

Selene

I swallowed hard. Dead.

"You can't do that!" I said.

MGK taking long strides until he is
standing right in front of me. He grabbed a fistful of my hair on his hand. It hurts a lot because he pulled it.

"Watch me, bitch" he said while smiling but it's so sadistic almost as if he imagine he is killing me.

"Let me go!" I shouted on his face.

He didn't let me go, he pulled my hair till our faces just inches away. From this angle, I can see his blue eyes. They're the bluest eyes I have ever seen. How can someone so beautiful yet so dangerous.

He seems lost too looking at my eyes. His eyes soften for few seconds then he let go of my hair abruptly.

I fell down on the floor.

"Leave, forget you have a brother" MGK said while motions to the guy with blue hair which name is josh to take my brother away.

I gripped his leg. "Take me" I said while looking at him.

He looking down on me, searching my eyes probably looking into my soul with his piercing gaze. I don't care, I just need to save Shiloh.

"Take me, let him go. I'll replace him" I said.

"Boss..." Josh said waiting for instruction.

"Fine, take her upstairs. Leave that kid" MGK said sounds so annoyed.

I breath in relief. At least one of us can live. I feel like crying. I haven't ask my brother, why did he stole the beers and get in trouble with these dangerous guys.

Two guys gripped both my arms and lead me away from the room.

"Promise you'll let him go" I said one last time.

MGK only looking at me without answering and I hope he will release my brother.

"You're in no position to make a deal, lady" someone spats at me.

I know he is right but deep down I hope by replacing Shiloh, I can keep him safe and alive.

They both dragging me upstairs, in the hallway I met a lot of drunk men and women. Just what is this place ? For my whole life I never step on this place even though many of friends does.

I have so many questions to ask towards Shiloh and Ben.

"Stay here, Boss will see you later" the guy in my right said as he pushed me inside into a room. I've been thinking too much, I didn't realized we arrived upstairs.

"O..okay" I said as I walked inside. He closed the door and I heard click which the sound of lock. He locked me.

I grabbed my phone from the back of my pocket jeans and called my friend, Gianna. Thank god the phone is still working despite the circumstances of me running in the rain.

I have to make it quick before MGK show up.

"Hi, Gianna... "

"Selene... What's wrong ?" She asked probably noticing my nervous voice.

"Go to my house and check if Shiloh at home or not. Text me" I said.

"What happen ?" Gianna asked confused.

"Gianna please, you have to trust me. Go to my house and check on Shiloh. I left Ben in my house" I said trying to calm my beating heart.

I am so nervous , MGK will show up any minute now.

"Okay but..." Before Gianna can say anything I hung up the phone. I can't waste my time now. I have to call the police. They're my only chance to free from here.

I called 911 with shaky hands. They didn't pick up at first so I called again. Right when they pick up my phone, the door opened.

I jumped and MGK standing there looking absolutely scary. I heard many stories of him for the past six years, how he grew into an underworld leader of this town.

"Hello, this is 911. What's your emergency ?"

I almost forgot I still have my phone in my ear.

"Help me ..." I said in panic while looking at MGK.

He still didn't move, just standing there looking scary. I have feeling he's so angry with the way his blue eyes darken a little.

"You're dead" I heard him said.

I barely heard the 911 operator service, because MGK walking towards me and with one movement he took my phone and throw it to the nearest wall, till it break into pieces. I gasped.

"I-..."

"You're calling police on me" he said calmly but when I look at his eyes, it's anything but calm.

"I just ... "

"You're the one offering yourself to me to let that kid go and now You're scared" he pointed out.

Scared ?
Of course I am.
Devil's club is foreign place for a girl like me. I heard many scary and bad stories around it.

"That's my brother, Shiloh. Is he ... Is he back home ?" I asked carefully watching him.

He walked around watching the wall without looking at me.

"Let's not talk much, I hired you to do job for me"

"What job ?" I asked.

I heard of it before. MGK is cruel. He is running the town with iron hands. No one dare to cross him, not one of them live to tell.

"Be part of my crew and I'll let your brother alive" he said finally looking at me.

"How do I know you're not lying ?"

"You don't. Its your choice" he shrugged.

I feel like he is playing with my mind.

"I can just pay for the beers he stole from you" I said without thinking because I am far beyond terrified.

"I have my own rule about thief" he said.

"Okay I'll do it" I said in defeat.

One lesson people in this town learned, No one wins against MGK.
