“I've got to go” I kissed her before leaving
I followed Francis into a room unoccupied.
“I'm going to check your claws. I'm interested in the wolfsbane in them and I want a sample of your venom as well” he told me getting straight to the point.
“Alright” I agreed. As much as I hate extending my claws I kind of have to, they are kind of annoying because of the wolfsbane as it’s harmful to my skin.
I extended my claws long enough for Francis to get whatever he needed. My skin started to burn just as he received the sample. I sheathed them back in cursing. Francis handed me some cream to put on it.
“Alright now the sample from your fangs” Francis told me
I opened my mouth extending my fangs. He pressed on the fangs and venom began to drip off my fangs and into the vial.
“Alright were done” Francis stated packing up his things
“I'm just wondering when are you going to your pack?” I asked him
“My pack is doing a lot better then Ryan’s in fact better than everyone’s because not a lot of creatures know about my pack so I've been keeping my cover and helping out here for a bit” Francis explained
“That makes sense” I thought out loud
I exited the room after Francis, making my way back to my house. I promised Warwick that I would do something with him today. Maybe Hayden and I can take him to the park tonight. I think he’ll like that.
I opened the wooden door sighing as I got inside. I took out the cream putting it on my hand. I put the cream onto the bench inside my house.
What the hell to do I wondered not sure what to do
“You look lost little brother” Hayden commented
“Yeah. Oh don’t do anything tonight” I told him
“Why?” he asked curious. He got off the couch, leaning on the kitchen bench
“I'm taking Warwick to the park tonight, he wants to spend more time with us” I explained
“You mean you. But I'll come anyway its not as if I have better things to do” he said
“Do you? I asked sighing
“No” Hayden said seriously, I thought he implied he had better things to do but I guess not.
“Oh yeah Warwick wants us to pick him up” Hayden looked as if he just remembered. I don’t even know how he raised his own kids because he forgets everything important or just remembers at the last minute
“Alright then lets get him, look at the time” I scolded Hayden
“I'm sorry I just remembered” he whined
“How did you raise kids again?” I raised and eyebrow
“Shut up” he cursed
We walked to the school to pick up Warwick. We waited out the front. He greeted me by running up to me hugging me.
“Hey buddy, have fun?” I asked him
“Yeah it was good” he replied “Hayden make yourself useful and pick me up” Warwick held out his arms
Hayden laughed picking up Warwick and settling him on his hips. We walked the rest of the way home peacefully for once.
“So we are going somewhere?” Warwick asked curiously
“Yep, later tonight” I told him
“Awww that’s so not fair. Where to?” he asked curious
“You'll find out later” I told him “You're just going to have to wait”
“Oh yeah, looks like you and Kayla are getting on well” Warwick said
“Yeah I guess you can say that” I laughed
“Yeah Hayden had to cover my ears” he laughed sitting down on the couch with his bag
“What?” I was embarrassed, as if... I feel like a bad parent right now
“Yep, I don’t know why though. Were you yelling at each other or something?” Warwick asked. I didn’t realised I held my breath and took a deep breath sighing
“Something like that” I told him looking at Hayden's face was priceless. I mouthed my thank you to him. He nodded his head still laughing silently in the background
“Can you help me with this?” Warwick asked as he was grabbing his books out of his bag
“Sure buddy” I smiled, I'm sure first grade whatever the subject was, would be a piece of cake
“This stuff isn’t easy” Warwick shook his head. I'm not sure if he's joking or being serious
“Do my homework for me” he handed me a couple of pages
“Yeah right” I gave the pages back to him. He gave me a glare before taking them back
“Helping only” I made it clear that I wasn’t going to do his homework for him.
Warwick pulled up his sleeves getting ready for work. I noticed a bruise on his arm.
“What's that?” I asked
“I fell out of a tree today” I let my barrier down to see if he was telling the truth and he was. The way in which he fell out was actually quite funny but I didn’t verbalise it. I put my barrier back up.
“Logan” Hayden called me to the kitchen. I got up from where i was seated and met my brother
“Stop poking around in that kids head” Hayden said angrily
“I just want to make sure he's okay” I told him my reasoning
“I know father neglected us at times but it doesn’t mean you can go around poking in his head” Hayden frowned
“Okay I wont anymore” I apologized
“Good because I don’t want to see any of your memories to be honest, most of them are shit” Hayden pointed out
“Yeah I know” I looked down at the ground
“Anyway go help him” Hayden patted me on the back
I went back into the living room and started to help Warwick.
