Irene’s POV

“Lighto~! Wait up~!” I called out childishly. I was skipped next to the handsome brown haired genius. He looked at me and smiled. “Oh Irene! I didn’t see you. Maybe next time try to gain some height” he said jokingly. I am actually 23 years old but people say that I look and act younger. I have a pair of red eyes and ebony black hair which people say very weird but I think its cool. I do have some curves but not a model type of body just normal. I am actually a novelist even if I am such an idiot most of the time. “I’m small but at least I’m cute even if I’m not beautiful.” I told him, pointing with both hands to myself at the word cute. He smiled at me.

I walked ahead of him and faced him while walking backwards. “Ehh…. Lighto-kun is annoyed. Why? Why?” I said childishly. “No I’m not. It’s just that I’m tired.” He replied. I pouted but tripped on a sign and fell on my butt. Light chuckled while I giggled. He offered his hand, I took it and stood up. “You're such a klutz” he commented. I removed the dirt of me. “But that’s what you like bout me. Ne?” I said tilting my head to the right with my hand pointing to the right matching my actions. He smiled and started walking again. I leapt up and rode Light’s back. He was a bit startled but regained his composure and properly carrying me on a piggy-back. “you could have just asked first before jumping on my back” he told me. I smiled and said “then that’s no fun.” He smiled but pointed out that I should stop being a spoiled child and act my age then started walking with me on his back. I rested my head on his shoulder and said with full of concern “Light, you know I know you more than your family, more than anyone else and I can tell that something’s up. And if you haven’t noticed we are alone in these streets no one passes by here anymore except us.” He let out a big sigh. “I’ll tell you later. Anyway are you eating in our house tonight?” I placed my forefinger to my chin and pretended to think. “Yes!” I said while pretending to press an invisible button in front of me.

We arrived in front of his house. he put me down because if his sister Sayu sees us like that she would comment again that me and Light are perfect for each other and should be my boyfriend and such. Light always said that I was a lot older than him so we can’t be together. I was happy since at least he didn’t say were “just” friends, I’m just like a sister to him or he didn’t love me. I entered the Yagami residence and greeted Sachiko, Light’s mother, and went to Light’s room with him. He just came from cram school today.

I sat down on Light’s bed while he entered and locked his door. He started pacing back and forth while in deep thought. “Light, stop.” I cried out while moving my hands in front of me up and down. He looked at me. “You’re making me dizzy” placing both hands on my head and moved it left to right once then pointed both hands to him “Kay? So stop pacing back and forth.” he sighed and sat on his chair and faced me then the floor. I walked up to him and placed both of my hands on his cheek and made him look at me. He placed his hand on one of my hands and looked at me with hopeful eyes. I love it when he let his walls and act down when he is alone with me. “Irene, I… I have secret to tell you but I know you might hate me for it” he said with a sad tone. I searched his eyes and saw sadness, hope, pain and uncertainty. I kissed his forehead “Light, I am your friend. You’re my only true friend, and if you are willing to tell me some secret you have that you know I would hate you for. I know I can still trust you since you chose not to hide it from me. It’s okay Light” he took a deep breath and said it “I killed people, many criminals. I am Kira and I want you to keep it as a secret, please” I took a step backwards. Light is Kira well I did notice the change around when Kira started killing so it’s plausible cause. He also has a strong sense of justice like Kira. I took a deep breath and smiled at him. He looked confused. “Light I don’t mind it even if you are a werewolf or a vampire who have killed people in order to dominate the whole clan of yours. As long as Light is still Light and not lose your self in this new found power.” he stood up and hugged me. “Thank you, but know I felt I was so weak and stupid to think that you will hateme.” I hugged him back and took in his scent. I love this Light and not the normal him.
