Unwanted Memories

*Flashback/Nightmare*

"WHY CANT WE EVER JUST HAVE A CIVILISED CONVERSATION ROSE!?" Young 11 year old Aly heard her dad shout. She was siting on the floor with her ear against her bedroom door while tightly gripping her puppy Fox. She knew that this arguement was only getting worse. Her dad never called her mom by her first name unless he was extremely angry. "THAT WOULD TAKE YOU BEING CIVILIZED IN THE FIRST F_UCKING PLACE" Aly's mom shouted even louder. She hated when her mom swore it always sounded so... scary.

By this time Fox was squirming in Aly's arms and whining, but Aly was too shaken to let her go. "WE AGREED THAT THERE WOULD BE NO VOULGAR LANGUAGE IN THIS HOUSE WHEN ALEX WAS BORN! I DONT CARE HOW ANGRY YOU ARE THAT DOESN'T CHANGE OUR RULES!" She heard her dad scream, now full of pure fury. And then everything went silent. Aly pulled Fox closer to her. What she heard her mother say next confused her. "I can't do this anymore Tom."

That sentence, it came out so calm. What did she mean by that? "W-what are you saying sweetheart" Aly heard her father stutter. "Don't call me that." Her mother quickly snapped. "I-I" She was now just as speechless as her dad was, choking on his own words. "I want a divorce Tom. I'm sorry." A single tear slowly trailed down Aly's face and fell onto Fox's back. In this moment she felt a connection unlike any other to her father as a tear fell from his face also. She felt her heart break into a million pieces as she heard a soft weep come from across the hall.. and it wasn't her mother's.

*End of Dream*

"MOM!" Aly yelled as she gasped for air. She realized where she was and slowly let her breathing pace and heart rate return to normal. She was covered in sweat and her eyes were almost glued shut with dried tears. "Just another nightmare.." She sighed and layed back down. "C'mere Fox!" She whispered calmly. Everytime Aly would have those nightmares/ Flashbacks she would always scare Fox so that he was at the end of the bed whimpering trying to wake her up and protect her. "I'm okay Fox, its okay.." She whispered into his ear as he cuddled closer to her. She soothingly began to stroke Fox's fur and softly sing her favorite song to help him sleep. "Look After You" by The Fray.

As Aly continued to sing she felt her eyelids slowly beginning to close. And then she finally fell back into a peaceful, nightmare free, sleep.

So, I felt bad about keeping you guys waiting so I decided to put in a little back story/ fill in chapter. That's why its really short.

Now I shall continue to write the UPCOMING CHAPTER OF SHOCKER AWESOMENESS!
