Jared's POV

She opened the doors to the house like she owned it. She grinned as we stared at her. She always liked the attention. Amber, Liam, and Richie all looked at her shocked. Probably wondering the same thing as I was. Why was she here?

"What?" she asked after couple minutes of shocked silence. "Do I have something in my face?"

"Why are you here?" Liam asked in disbelief.

"Can't I come back here to my own house? Don't ask a stupid question like that Liam," She snapped and hot him on the head. Let's just say that she has a quick temper.

"You know that's not what I mean. I mean, when did you get back?" Liam said, touching his head in pain.

"Today obviously. I completed my mission and now I'm finally home. Ah, how I miss you guys and you're horrible injured faces."

She had noticed the newcomers, but dismissed her interest easily as she sat on the couch, oblivious of the situation.

My dad had sent her on a mission that everyone thought was a suicidal mission since she never came. It was already a year later. The pack all knew that she would come back, but who knew of all days, it could be today.

"So I guess you completed your mission then," I said.

She gave me a 'no duh' look. "I'm tired and hungry. Where are the pops and mom?"

"They're out," I replied. "They went to a meeting with our important guests. I guess you need some catching up to do."

"Why? What happened?" she asked, curious. "Wait, wait, wait. I guess you have to start by explaining who they are first, dontcha?"
She finally became interested in their existence.

"You guys got new pack members while I wasn't here?"

"No they are--"

"I'm Chris, next alpha of the Southern Pack and this is my twin, Charlie. Hr is my future beta, Grey and his sister, Rosy," Chris introduced quickly. "So you're Julie, I assume? They said that you're the second best fighter here. Let's fight."

Julie grinnedn standing up and ealking towards him. "Let's."

"Not in my house you guys aren't," I ordered.

Julie looked at me long and hard. "Then let's head to the forest," Julie suggested and was going to go until I said no. She gave me an irritated look. "Why're you stopping me?"

"This is no time to be fighting. We are at war here."

She stopped walking. "What? Who?"

"Him," I replied.

That's all it did to rile her up. She glared at no one in particular. "Him? HIM!?"

She stormed out of the house before anyone could react, but Julie was Julie, so I knew that she would qct that way and I followed her. She was always the overreactor and drama queen of the pack.

"Stop. Where are you trying to go?"

"I'm going to hunt those bastards down, that's what I'm trying to do. You better not stop me, next alpha or not. I'll beat you up if you do."

I sighed. "You don't even know where to start and you can't just act recklessly by yourself," I said, trying to reason with her. "Are you trying to lead a suicide mission here? You don't even know the details."

Julie turned to me, rage in her face. She was shaking in anger. She was going to turn any moment. Gosh, I hated her when this happens. It was always me who got hurt in the end.

"Then what? Are you just going to stay here doing nothing? I have been in a suicide mission. I know that I can win this."

"You're forgetting that you don't know ths situation. They're rogues. You can't win. They're more stronger than you and I know that you can take a couple down but they made a pack now. They have more wolves than you think. What are you trying to do? Kill yourself right after you got home? You didn't even say hi to your parents or mine. Be reasonable and stop acting out. You know that it gets you nowhere."

She came up to me and punched me hard and kicked my wounded leg. I grunted in pain. "You better be right," she snapped and walked in the house.

I touched my bruised face. "Why do I get hit for saying something right? Gosh, I regret ever missing her."

I followed her in and everyone was avoiding Julie, knowing that they heard the whole thing. Amber looked up at me, worried. No one was talking nor doing anything. The arrival of Julie ruined the mood. Wow, she got some power there. I looked at her. She was still mad, but there were no signs of her changing into her wolf anytime soon. No one talked for a couple minutes until a voice brought our attention.

"So, tell me the whole story. Why did they start coming back?" Julie asked, breaking the silence.

I glanced at her. She was already done being angry. Unbelievable. Her question was directed at me.

"I'm wondering too," Chris said. "Dad didn't go any further than saying that we're going to start a war. Why are we fighting and who with?"

I sighed, knowing that it would take a long time to explain, but now everyone was staring at me. "There was this one man," I started. "They were best friends with my dad, James Wolf. They had another friend. Mark Harrison. They were the bests friends in the world. They had found their mates and dad was the alpha of their pack. Mark was the beta."

I paused, remembering. I wasn't born during this but dad told me a million of times asva warning. "They were sent on a mission, all three of them. There were rumors that something was killing the townsmen, but it was rogues who were actually doing it. As you know, rogues are wolves that were abandoned or had abandoned their pack. Since these rogues were killing in my dad's turf, there was no choice but to fight the rogues that were killing the  innocent people. They were the strongest team ever like respectable team plays, but one eventful day changed tbeir lives forever and they never were the same. Him, that one effortless bastard."

"Waitb. The rogue we are after is naned him?" Chris asked.

"No. His name is Kilt Garden."

They all widen their eyes except for my pack. They already knew this information. "You mean, the number one rogue that's the most wanted in the universe? We're up against him?" Grey asked. It caught me by surprise to hear him talking.

I nodded. "Yes, that's him. Like I said, one day changed all that. One mission was all it did, to tear their relationship apart..."

*flashback*
James kissed his wife goodbye. "Be careful," she said, voice full of worries and sadness.

"Don't worry," he replied. "I'll come home safe and sound."

Piper nodded and smiled weakly.
"I love you."

James smiled and kissed her forehead one last time. "I love you too."

Piper looked at his backside, as he was turning away from her. She had a feeling that something was going to happen. Something bad and yet, she couldn't do anything to stop it. She begged her husband not to go to the mission. Send someone else but he was too stubborn to listen. He just said that nothing was going to happen and he was going.

She didn't even feel reassured that Mark and Kilt were coming with him. The feeling was wrong. They shouldn't be going, but like her husband, they were too stubborn to drop this mission and give it to someone else. The rogues were killing mercilessly. Killing all the innocent people that were in their path. James knew that the only people that can stop them, were them. She couldn't argue with that. But there were something different about the rogues. She could feel it in the air.  She didn't want ber intuition to come true, but all she could do was wait for them to return, safe and sound.
