Andrea hooted with laughter, "A boy? Funny!" She replied when I told her the whole story, "So when does he move in?" She asked.

"Today. I just haven't said anything until now. Should I be worried?" I asked pacing the restaurant now.

"I'm sure it's fine, and if your parents are the way you've described them they'll be marching down to your aid in no time." She shook her head, "You'll have them wrapped around your finger."

When I got home I walked in to see Casey- I mean Chase, sitting on the couch. I wasn't expecting him this early, and I saw no boxes around the house. When he finally noticed me he smiled standing up. "Welcome home!" He laughed, "Where have you been?"

"Um... Working? Did you um... move your stuff in already?" I asked astonished.

"Yea. Just a few bathroom products and clothes- oh and my video games. Not much. So I see this is a one bedroom apartment?" He wiggled his eyebrows.

"Yea, nice try. The couch rolls out into a bed." I snapped.

"Ooh feisty." He chuckled to himself. I knew I was in for it. "Oh I made dinner by the way." He added.

This caught my attention, dinner? I didn't know how to cook so I'd basically lived off of Progresso Soup cans and ramen noodle packages since college. He lead me into the kitchen where sure enough he'd made chicken and mashed potatoes. I was quite impressed actually, I didn't really know any guys who could cook. I grabbed a plate, "Wow... thanks..."

"No problem, I know girls like a guy who can cook." He winked.

"Uh huh." I sat down at the counter with him eating, and it was a really good meal.

"So tell me about yourself."

I hated doing this, but I knew he'd be gone as soon as I called my mom tonight to tell her the 'great' news. "Well... I have an older sister, I like the color green, and I did gymnastics when I was little?" I said uneasily, I didn't know how to describe myself to anyone really.

"Oh please, that's the worst description ever. What's your favorite song?" I was quiet, "Well?"

"On The Bright Side by Never Shout Never." I answered.

He smiled, "That's more like it. I like that song too, what are you passionate about?"

"Acting. I moved here to make it big, but it's not really working out as planned."

He nodded, "Well it takes time." He said sympathetically.

I wasn't sure if I hated Chase or liked him. He seemed really sweet right now, but he was a complete tool otherwise. I finished my dinner thanking him once again heading to my room. I didn't know what to make of having a guy in the house, I hadn't had brothers growing up so it was a little awkward. I pulled out my cell phone quickly dialing my mom's number wondering where the hell my parents were right now anyways. It took about five rings before she answered.

"Emerson!" She said delighted, but I didn't think she was too happy to be hearing from me so soon.

"Hi mom! I just wanted to let you know I took your advice and got a roommate!" I replied happily.

"Oh! That's wonderful honey! What's her name?"

"Oh, it's a he mom."

"What?" She asked.

"A he, it's a boy. His name is Chase." I answered slyly.

"Oh! That's wonderful! I didn't know you had a boyfriend! It's about time, call me when he proposes dear!"

I couldn't fucking believe it. Was my mom actually encouraging this? "We're not dating. He's just staying here. Did you tell dad? We're sharing a bed." I lied.

I heard muffled voices as she excitedly told my dad, "He's happy for you dear."

"WE'RE NOT BOYFRIEND AND GIRLFRIEND!" I cried, "We slept together." I added.

"It's about time you lost your virginity dear, most kids lose it in high school." She noted.

"I gave him a blow job."

"Umm honey..."

"HOW THE HELL ARE YOU OKAY WITH THIS?" I shouted.

She just laughed on the other end, "As long as you're happy Emerson! Now your father and I have a flight to catch, we're going to Fiji."

"Fine. Tell dad I fucked Chase senseless." I snapped hanging up the phone.

I slammed my phone down angrily, I knew it was nothing about me being happy! It was all about them. They were in permanent vacation mode. I let out a frustrated scream falling backwards onto my bed. I heard a knocking on the door, shit, I'd forgotten Chase was outside. I called him inside and I saw a goofy smile on his face.

"So you gave me a blow job huh?"

"Get the fuck out."

He laughed sitting down next to me, "I understand why you let me live with you, and I get it. I can leave if that's what you want. I'll just get my stuff- but if you ever want to fulfill your 'fantasies' about me, you have my number." he said patting my shoulder and standing up.

I sighed knowing what I had to do, "Chase, you can stay."

"Are you sure?"

"Well, yea. I need someone to help me pay for this place anyways."

"Good because I already hooked up my Xbox."

With that he walked out the door leaving me alone in my bedroom. I decided to call Andrea, and I told her the whole thing. We talked for about a half an hour before I finally got bored sitting alone in my room. I decided as much as I didn't want to it was time to leave my room. I was going to have to get used to having a guy around. So I walked out to see him watching cartoons on the couch. I snickered causing him to turn his head and blush switching the channel.

I sat down next to him on the couch grabbing the remote and switching it back, "I love cartoons." I said pulling my knees to my chest.

I saw him smile at me, "I think you'll be fine without your parents money. You know, that means you can do whatever you want now. You're free."

"What's there to do anyways?" I asked not seeing the good side of this offer.

"A lot of things." Chase answered, "How about this, when you get off work tomorrow I'll take you out and show you all the crazy shit you can do without them watching over you, okay?"

I considered this for a moment, it actually sounded pretty promising. "Okay." I agreed reluctantly hoping I wouldn't come to regret this decision.
