This isn't a love story, just a little short story from Sans' perspective, using adrisaurus' cover of Megalovania.
Lyrics will be italicized.

Oh yeah, spoiler warning for the genocide run.

--

I sat in the cold, empty hallway awaiting the fate I knew was bound to happen. Fixing my hood behind me, I stood straight as I saw the small human walk in. It was time.

Human child, depraved and vile.
In your smile, the terror of a killer.
When you stand before the mirror, do you still hold your head high?

They smiled frighteningly at me as I spoke. "Getting frustrated yet? Everytime you lose, I know you'll reset. I'll always be here waiting. I will never let you win, kid." The smile never left their face, chilling me to the bone.

"Let's get on with it then."

Carved their sentence with a knife,
Stole the gift that they called life.
So now you'll stand and answer for yourself.
Prepare for a living hell.

I remembered each of my friends during the fight. They had all been cut down and thrown aside by this... monster. I was passing judgement on this genocidal child.

But why did it hurt so much with every attack?

Why did memories flood back of this child and I?

You chose to have loved and lost,
Knowing well that they'd never get to see each other again.

No, I couldn't think about this. This child - a frail, tiny human - killed everyone I had ever loved. That was the scariest part; they seemed so harmless. The glint of the knife in their hand said otherwise.

Can you hear their memories calling from within?

I knew this child had some sort of control over time. They knew about other times, timelines that we could have almost...

Was it really worth the cost?
Was it you who deserved to be the one alive at the end?

No.

They took everything from me. My security, my comfort, my brother.

They could never take one thing though:

My determination.

Can you feel the darkness crawling with your sins?

I passed judgement on them, as was my job. I launched attack after attack toward them, quickly becoming exhausted. I couldn't dodge for much longer.

The time has come
Nowhere to run

My final attack was brutal. I lashed out at them with everything I had, giving it my all.

I would avenge my friends.

I would avenge my brother.

I would kill this child.

Answer now for your sins.

I couldn't take it. I decided to rest, keeping it my attack. They would never escape. It would forever be my turn.

I felt as if I had won.

Murderous child, full of greed,
Was this really what you dreamed?

I felt the blow's sting before the pain swept in.

I had lost.

I couldn't dodge. I couldn't do anything.

"I'm going to Grillby's."

I walked a few steps, feeling tears roll down my cheekbones.

"Papyrus, you want anything?"
