Y/n's POV:

Staring outside the front door's window, I breathe in excitedly at the fact that in just a short 15 minutes, I'll be in the arms of the one I love. After five months of touring all I hear from Shawn is how happy he is he'll be finally able to see me and mend some patches in our one year marriage.

outside the snow is falling on a quiet scene, the light illuminating just a bit of our white blanketed yard, but nothing beyond. Since privacy has been a big thing of ours for a long time, our house lays far from others, so no neighbors are here nor awake to witness us two reunite.

After five months it's amazing to think of all I have missed, like his white tooth smile, and the way he sounds in the morning, how his arms feel tightly wrapped around me at night, as if he never wants to let go. Things like his giggle, or the crinkling of his eyes when he smiles his widest become things I miss most.

My unsteady heart begins to beat faster as I see headlights coming up the long drive, nothing matters more than seeing his face once again. FaceTime, calling, texting, and social media are all ways we communicate but nothing compares to face to face.

In the snowy mess, a figure gets out of the car, putting his hand over his eyes at the porch light I've turned on, and that award winning smile flashes at me, it being completely recognizable even in the dim lighting.

I huff the breath I've been holding out and grab a coat and slip on boots and bolt out the door trudging through snow and ice that's inches on our porch and walk, until I practically fall into his arms.

"oh my god," I breathe laughing, in disbelief that he's actually right here, "I missed you so much."

My feet are semi sliding so Shawn's holding me up on some sort of slanted hug, him laughing and his muscles relaxing at my warm touch.

"It's been so long y/n," he smiles into my neck making heat rise all over, "I missed you so much."

and even with the freezing temperatures that surround us we always manage to keep warm, just by standing in our unbreakable embrace.

The soft wind is blowing as we just stand in our driveway, holding onto each other for dear life, just taking in the fact that we have this opportunity together.

"I wished you would've come on tour with me babygirl, everything got so lonely," he practically pouts in my ear as he pets my hair and rubs my back to keep his hands warm, "you don't know how isolating it is."

"I had to stay," I sniffle, the cool air making my nose run, "and besides your team would've gotten sick of me so quickly."

My response makes him laugh a laugh that could replace sunshine, and he guides us to the house, sighing in relief at the warmth and the familiarity.

"I missed this," he looks around happily at our cozy home, "but for sure I missed you," he grunts as he picks me up bridal style and attacks my face with kisses.

"Shawn!" I laugh, trying to move, but my actions are useless compared to his strength.

We lay on the couch with the TV softly humming as background noise, with shawn spooning me and our hands intertwined.

"y/n?" he sweetly squeaks, "do you mind if I ask you something?"

his politeness makes my heart warm and I squeeze his hand as I let out a, "yes?"

"Do you want a baby? I've been thinking about it for a while and the thought of us raising a little boy or girl just, I don't know, makes me feel really happy because I know you would just be the most amazing mom."

The question caught me off guard but his complimentary rambling makes me giggle, "Of course hun, I was just thinking the same thing not too long ago. Having a family with you would be absolutely perfect."

The response I gave clearly made him bubbly with joy and excitement at just the thought of starting a family, and I can't say I didn't feel the same way.

"I love you so much y/n," he hums tiredly into my neck, making goosebumps to rise on my arms.

"and I love you."
