It was almost midnight when your phone buzzed. You'd forgotten that you hadn't put it down on your bedside table and it had remained clutched in your hand while you slept. You groaned quietly and unlocked your phone, immediately turning down the brightness when the white on the screen nearly blinded you. There was a text from your boyfriend.

"Come and open up the door, would you?" it read.

You groaned louder and got up out of bed, putting on your slippers and trudging downstairs. "Now is not the time for sleepovers, Daiki..." you mumbled under your breath as he made your way over to the door. You opened it and barely had time to react before Aomine rushed into your house.

"Hey, (f/n). I hope you don't mind if I stay over," he said casually as he walked upstairs, taking two at a time. As you watched him go, you noticed that he was already in his pajamas. What was he doing here?

You shut the front door and followed him upstairs. It had only been a matter of seconds between his arrival to your room and your own, yet he'd already plopped his bag down on the floor, crawled under the covers of your bed, and was settling down to sleep. "Daiki, what the hell?!" you grumbled as you watched him with you (e/c) eyes.

"Shut up and let me sleep..." he mumbled and waved you off lazily. He didn't even bother opening his eyes, and he was starting to take up more space on your bed as he got comfortable.

"What are you doing here?!"

Aomine groaned loudly before grabbing your arm and pulling you down into the bed with him. "Can't you just appreciate the fact that your wonderful boyfriend is here to spend time with you?" he sighed, placing his arm around your waist and pulling you closer to him.

"No. There has to be a catch." You gazed into his navy blue eyes before he lifted his chin and pulled your head closer so that your face was practically in his neck.

"The power went out at my house," he admitted, "and then I started hearing strange noises, so I thought it would be best to come here and check on you to make sure you weren't scared."

"So you came here to check on me, yet you made a beeline straight for my bed and settled down to sleep without so much as an are you okay? Lame!" you retorted and giggled. You heard Aomine growl. "I think I know why you're here. Little Daiki is afraid of the dark!"

"I am not!" he argued, turning his head away and sticking out his bottom lip slightly.

"You thought there were ghosts in your house, didn't you?!" you continued, trying your best not to burst out laughing.

"I did not!"

"Watch out, I'm turning off the lamp!" you warned jokingly as you reached over at switched the lamp at your bedside table off.

"Shut up! I sleep with the lights off at home, so it's not like I'm afraid of the dark..." he whined, pressing his face into your shoulder as he settled down to sleep.

"But you leave the little light in your bathroom on."

"I don't want to trip when I need to pee in the middle of the night!"

"Excuses, excuses..." You heard him sigh with defeat and you decided to take pity on him. You wrapped your arms around him and held his body closely to yours to comfort him. He closed his eyes as he moved his head further down and buried his face in your chest.

Suddenly, a clicking noise emanated from downstairs that made Aomine jump. He clung onto your shirt as he shot up, searching for the source of the noise with wide eyes. "W-What's that?!" he gasped.

"It's the heater turning on, idiot. How many times have you come over to my house?"

Aomine slumped back down into bed and pouted. "I knew that, stupid..." he murmured, "It just sounded different..." There was an utterly defeated look on his handsome face as he breathed out a long sigh and stuck his face in your chest again.

When he was at peace, he managed to fall asleep within a few short minutes. You reached behind you and tried to get his hands to stop clinging to your shirt, but their grip refused to let up, even in his sleep. Oh well, you thought and put your arms back around him. You kissed the side of his head gently and smiled.

Aomine was so unpredictable sometimes, both in his style of basketball and his reasons for showing up at your house.
