Prologue ✧Rey✧

My heart raced as I stood at the edge of the cliff.

Just one little shove and he could kill me.

The heat and glow of our lightsabers were all that separated Kylo Ren's face and my own.

"You need a teacher," he panted tiredly. "You're a strong woman, join me."

My eyes widened slightly in surprise. Here he was, trying to kill me, and now he was offering to allow me to join him. If I didn't join him, I'd most likely die, but if I did, all of the resistance would see me as a traitor... That is, if they survived this endeavor. Han was already dead thanks to Kylo. I can't imagine what would happen to everyone else.

"Rey!" a gruff voice interrupted my thoughts. "I swear I'll kill you too if you don't give me an answer!"

I gulped nervously. Die, fight, or join this maniac... Taking a deep breath, I used all the strength I had to push him away from me. I watched him stumble backwards into the snow as I disabled my lightsaber and stepped away from the cliff.

"If you plan to be my mentor, we need to get off this place... Fast," I pant and offer my hand out to him.

A smirk stretched his lips as he disabled his blade and pulled me into his arms. Tossing me over his shoulder, he begun running back to the entrance of the base. The snow was falling a bit heavier, and my adrenaline rush was wearing off. The icy flakes stung my bare shoulders and made me aware of how exhausted I truly was. My eyes begun feeling heavy when Kylo begun shouting orders at some storm troopers to ready a ship to evacuate. The last thing can remember is being carried onto a ship before passing out.
