Five Years Later

The Aether wolf darted in between spruce, birch, and oak trees at an incredible speed. She flattened her ears farther down and got into a lower position. She sped a couple blocks faster the farther down she got and she took quick even breaths through her wolf snout. She whipped her head backwards in a split second and caught notice of Jax still on her tail. Right behind them were a pack of hunters with their weapons ready for firing. They had a taste for rare glitches and weren't in the mood of letting them get outrun by pathetic messed up code. Their eyes read pure hatred as they sped up but Jax and Pallynne didn't take a moment to stop and take a breath.
Suddenly, there was the loud bang of a gunshot and Pallynne heard a shriek and a thump from behind her. She closed her eyes for about two seconds and saw a slight image behind her of Jax kneeling on the ground clutching his shoulder. She leapt up about two blocks high and in a heartbeat, she morphed back into her human form. Still in the air, she flipped around, pulled out her gun, landed on the grass, and pulled the trigger aiming right at the middle hunter's head. There was another loud BANG and the hunter dropped to the ground slowly disintegrating into code whilst leaving behind his belongings.
The other two hunters looked at each other in fright for a few seconds until both their expressions hardened. They got out their guns and fired at the exact same time. Pallynne glitched that split second and her body flashed transparent. Both the bullets passed right through her body and hit the trees behind.

Wow! That wasn't even intentional! She exclaimed to myself. Y'know, sometimes glitching can save your life. And apparently, this was one of these times.

Both hunters growled through clenched teeth and shot more bullets but in a blink of an eye, Pallynne fired her's as well and they collided into the other two. All four exploded at the same time and she covered my eyes.
Before she even knew what happened, Pallynne felt a searing pain shoot through her hand and up her arm. She bit the inside of my cheek forcing herself not to scream. She brought her right hand up and saw a bullet sticking up out of it along with a couple streams of code leaking out. The pain grew inside her hand but she ignored it as best she could.
Pallynne's icy blue eyes switched over to Jax who was still clutching his shoulder looking weaker than ever. Her mind raced for an idea and one eventually stuck out like a bookmark.
She sighed and put the guns back into her belt. She straightened the transparent high collar on her long undone coat and darted over to Jax. The Aether wolf hybrid grabbed him by his good arm and they both glitched away from the hunters and onto the top of a nearby oak tree. It was one of those high ones so the hunters couldn't see them from where they were in the forest. Pallynne helped Jax down and onto a sturdy looking branch in the tree, and took his hand off his shoulder carefully. He winced and his breaths were close to even but she could tell he was in a lot of pain by the looks of his expression. She took a close look at the wound and caught notice of the shiny silver object inside.
Pallynne sighed. Her shoulders slumped which made her blue tipped curls bounce. Her blue and white ears drooped.

"I can't fix this on my own. We need to get to a nearby village for some bandages because I don't have enough supplies for it." She explained trying to sound reassuring.

Jax nodded. His face showed pure pain and he groaned when he shifted position on the branch. Pallynne sighed again but straightened her posture.

This was going to be a long day.

Excuse the short chapter. Have a nice day y'all! :D
