"Katherine will be so pissed if she knows you came to me for this", one of the people across from Clara said

"Please. I wanna know who KM is. Katherine won't tell me", Clara said

"There were only two person I knew by the initials of KM. Klaus and Kol Mikaelson", Caroline Forbes said.

"Who are they?", Clara asked

"Kol is dead and Klaus is a sociopathic hybrid with daddy issues", Caroline replied

"They sound friendly", Clara said sarcastically

"Don't worry, Clara, we'll protect you", Stefan Salvatore said

"Thank you. Both of you", Clara said.

"Is there anything you want us to do?", Stefan asked

"Yes. I want you to teach me how to fight", Clara said firmly

Harder, better, faster, stronger...

The next day, Clara woke up at 4:30, pulled her hair into a ponytail, put on leggings and a tank top, and went for a run around the block and back. When she got home, she had breakfast and changed into her school clothes.

That's how long I've been on ya...
"Hi, is there any chance I could join the cheerleading squad?"
"Is there any chance I could join track?"
"Are there any spots open on the wrestling team?"
"Hello, my name is Clara Jones and I'd like to join the self defence class"
"What time does the gym close?"
Clara sighed. She'd signed up for all the teams Caroline had told her to do and joined all the clubs Stefan told her to join.
It was essential for her survival

"Having fun?" Katherine asked as Clara ran on the treadmill. 
"Katherine!" Clara gasped, wiping the sweat off her forehead with her hand
"Clara!" Katherine gasped in the same tone
"What are you doing here?" Clara asked, sliding off the treadmill and standing next to her best friend
"Well, Caroline Forbes can't keep a secret for her life when I ask" Katherine said sweetly
"Great. Thank you, Caroline" Clara muttered
"Fight me" Katherine said suddenly
"What?" Clara asked
"You're taking down Klaus? Fight. Me. I'm 1000 years old, half Klaus's age. If anyone is going to help you, it'll be me" Katherine told Clara

Outside, Clara blocked most of Katherine's shots but found it hard to get in any of her own. Twisting Katherine's arm back, Clara lunged forwards, pinning Katherine to the ground.

"Well done" Katherine said, weirdly proud. Caroline stood at the front of the alley, her mouth in an O shape. Clara stood up and glared at her, breathing heavily.

"Clara, I am so sorry. Katherine..." Caroline began but Clara shoved past her and stormed out of the alley.

"I can't believe Caroline did that!" Clara ranted, pacing around the Salvatore living room, ignoring Stefan's attempts to talk
"Clara..." Stefan said before rushing in front of her and lightly holding her wrists, "focus on me. The sound of my voice. Okay? Just focus on me"

Clara found she wasn't angry anymore as she gazed into Stefan's eyes, "wow. How'd you do that?"

"I was able to stop an old friend when she was angry a long time ago" Stefan said after a long time, sadness filling his eyes

"Cool. Was it Elena?" Clara asked. Stefan had to close  his eyes for a minute.
"Yeah. Yeah it was. She was the love of my life but then she fell in love with my brother. And then she was turned into a human. And then she died" Stefan told her.

"I can't imagine anyone not wanting to be with you" Clara replied

"Thank you" Stefan said. The two locked eyes and their faces moved close together but Clara pulled away

"I'm sorry, Stefan, I can't and won't be another Elena to you" Clara told him honestly before sprinting out.

"You're so much more than Elena" Stefan said softly, touching his lips

Clara fell heavily against a tree, breaking down in tears and falling to her knees.

"When do you want us to carry out the plan?" She asked Klaus, picking her nails
"Soon" Klaus promised
"Good. Because I was getting bored" she pouted, leaning over and almost kissing Klaus
"Brother, I don't think I need to see your displays of affection" Elijah rolled his eyes
"Ah, brother, give it a rest. You are no more honourable than I when it comes to beautiful women" Klaus smirked
"Elijah, it's been so long" the girl smiled.
"I'm sorry, I'm not sure I recognise you" Elijah said, confused
"My name is Bonnie" Bonnie smiled, red lips gleaming in the dark.

"I miss you" Tyler said
"What?" Caroline asked, startled
"I. Miss. You. We were broken up when you slept with Klaus" Tyler said softly
"Why did we break up?" Caroline asked softly
"I wanted revenge on Klaus. For some reason, that overrode being with you. I'm never going to be so homicidal again. You're worth more than that" Tyler told her
"Wow" Caroline giggled, blushing.
The werewolf and vampires lips met, softly at first and then passionately. Caroline's jacket hit the floor first and then Tyler's shirt
