Chapter 10- Knight In The Shinning Armani
The phone kept ringing. He was almost about to run out of patience when it was finally answered.
"If you are busy, I can call you later." He said in a monotone. His attention already distracted.
"No, this is also important." The reply came.
"Yep, that's why I called you on your personal number. I've a strong lead." He typed something on his laptop and the result made a smug come to his face.
"Finally! Talk to me."
"I have the name. The brain running the Organization. Their boss. Hell, I've my eyes on him right this moment." He smirked checking the screen of his laptop that showed a live feed of some traffic cam.
"But you won't go after him."
This wasn't the answer he was expecting. He frowned getting his attention back to the call. "What!? But why?"
"Because this time let FBI catch him. My sources are telling me that Jimmy's disappearance is already starting to raise questions. It's only been one day after the New Year and there are already discrepancies in the system. We don't want that! We don't want to tip off our enemies."
He just silently groaned closing his eyes relaxing on his couch. He took a sip from the wine that laid aside on the table as he listened.
"Let the system work on its way. They shouldn't suspect your presence."
"But it'd take them forever! They haven't even started the race and I am already about to win it." He said turning back to his laptop.
"If you'd have continued with your previous course, there would've been no problems. But since you decided to do it like this, now you follow the rules of the system. Anonymity is crucial for both of us. They shouldn't find out I summoned you for this. We don't need attention."
He rolled his eyes. "Fine. Then don't blame me for the delay. Honestly your 'system' is actually just running around chasing its own tail."
"Then do whatever you have to do to nudge them in the right direction."
Then brought back the smug on his face. He sneered as he replied, "Just remembered you allowed me."

He walked down to his garage. Paul ran to him stammering that he was about bring his car. Kent shrugged him saying that he was in the mood himself today, just like yesterday. He had just taken the keys of Audi R8 v10 matte black. It had turned out to be lucky for him last night. And for some reason, he decided to take this one for today's ride too. Not that he was planning to have a full day again with only Alex. But he wouldn't mind that either.
He smiled as the garage door opened and he drove it out into the streets. The engine fired up into life on the road in the early January morning. Kent smiled looking out his window through his blue shades. He was just happy. He didn't know where Alex and he stood. But he wasn't rushing here. He was curious to whatever was happening to him. He was giving this a chance and decided to take his time.
For now, he was just looking forward to meeting her again. He just couldn't think beyond that. Those kisses last night weren't letting him think of anything else. He has been ridiculous ever since then. He didn't had dinner last night after he came back home. His chef had served him but he had just ignored them all and went to his room. He had just been under the hot shower letting the water trickle over him as he kept replaying that kiss again and again. After really struggling for the sleep last night, he had woken up 4 am when he just couldn't wait anymore. But obviously knowing that it was way too early, he just did the normal workout he had in his routine. Nothing too stretchy and fancy. He just liked being in the shape.
