“I can’t believe I did this to you. I’m so sorry,” Luke wept. “I know you’re asleep, but I can’t say it to your face. I can’t look you in the eyes knowing that I hurt you. I love you so much.”
I was still on the couch, although I’d be up for some time now. When I felt a body sit down beside me I figured that it was Mikey again or maybe Char, but once they started talking my heart sunk. I knew that they were going to call him eventually, but I still didn’t know what to do or say. I wasn’t as mad at his as it seemed, believe it or not.
“Luke. . .” I finally spoke. He looked up at me and I could tell that he’d been crying. A fresh tear fell down his cheek and I wiped it away before taking his hand in my own. “Luke, it’s okay.”
“No, it’s not okay. I hurt you.” I could see the tears threatening to fall from his eyes again.
“Luke, you didn’t mean to. You were mad at Calum and you weren’t thinking.”
“That’s no excuse. I’m so sorry, baby. I’ll never do it again. I promise.” I leaned in and kissed him on the cheek. “I love you.”
“I love you, too.”
“I love you so much more; more than you’ll ever know.”

The next week we didn’t see or hear from Calum at all. We found out that Felicia was due in late February. She wasn’t going to be going back to school this year; she was going to take online classes to get her credits for her junior year. She knew that if she went back to school it would be complete hell for her. I felt bad for her. As of right now it seemed like she’d be raising this baby without a father. There was still time, but no one thought that Cal was going to come around. She refused to have an abortion or put the baby up for adoption.
We all were gathering at Nikki’s for a Sunday dinner. Her mom loved cooking as much as Nikki did, so almost every Sunday we were invited over there for dinner. It was nice having a sit down meal with them. Her parents were really cool and most of the time we’d all end up crashing in the basement. We all got dressed up for these dinners. The guys usually wore decent pants and a button down. The girls always wore dresses or skirts. It was a tradition for us to take pictures every dinner.
I decided to wear a black and white tribal patterned maxi dress with my black pumps. I straightened my hair and it fell nearly to my waist. I also put on the silver heart necklace that Luke had given me for my birthday.it hung from a delicate, silver chain and it had diamonds on it. It was the most gorgeous piece of jewelry I owned.
We all had a great time at dinner. Nikki had gotten tipsy off of the wine before we even started eating. That was just kind of how she rolled, I guess. Luke stayed right by my side the entire night. When we finished eating we went down into the basement to watch a movie, or a movie marathon as it turned out. Scary movies. Nikki’s basement had a huge projection screen and a giant sectional that we could all fit on.
Luke and I were on the one end closest to the screen. I was in between his legs lying back on him. We had a blanket thrown over us because it was a little chilly. Nikki and Mikey were in one corner next to Felicia. Ash and Char were snuggled up in the other corner. We started off the night with the movie Prom Night, then watched the Devil inside which was way too scary for me. I had seen it in theaters when it had first come out and nearly pissed my pants. I spent most of the movie with my head buried in Luke’s chest with him arms tightly wrapped around me.
I must have drifted off to sleep because when I woke up Luke was the only one up and one of the Paranormal Activity movies was on. “Hey babe,” I whispered, being careful not to wake anyone else up.
“Hi there, beautiful. Did you have a nice nap?” He smiled down at me and kissed the top of my head.
“Only because I was in your arms,” I smiled back at him. “What time is it?”
“About one thirty. Why don’t you go back to sleep?”
“I will, but only if you go to sleep with me.” He smiled down and nodded his head, agreeing with me. It was a little crowded on the couch now so I got up and pulled a few pillows and a blanket out from behind the couch. I put them on the floor and laid down, making a puppy dog face at Luke trying to get him to join me. He chuckled and came down to the floor. He pulled the blanket over us and I cuddled up to his side. The threw his arm over me and I put my head on his chest. I always felt safe in his arms and I was glad that things were back to normal with us. I love this boy so much.
