Wolfie's POV

September 1, 2008

Crunch.

I was walking through a forest at night behind a very familiar house listening to the sounds of the wind and nocturnal animals.

I had just got back from my trip and I promised someone that I would visit as soon as I did, but for now I needed to send a letter. The fall air was coldest at night but I didn't mind. The best thing about tonight was that the moon was at its peak, nice and full.

I stopped walking and looked up to at the house --or at least the back of it-- and smiled.  I turned around and began climbing up the tallest tree I could find. Reaching the top of a branch, I looked in the distance.

Not too far.

I backed up on the branch and tucked my pendant inside my sweatshirt. Lowering the hood of my sweatshirt I flashed a fang-filled grin and jumped. I could feel the wind rush through my hair as I tucked my knees to my chest. I somersaulted and landed with a soft thud on the roof down on one knee.

I flipped my hood on and walked along the gutters with feather-like steps to ensure the residents underneath remained asleep. I stopped at the edge and dropped into a crouch, gazing out at the front of the house, a raven GMC Topkick sitting in the driveway.

That's new.

I slit my eyes and hopped down into the cool grass. I dusted myself off and walked toward the mailbox, stopping at the oak tree in the yard and brushing my gloved fingers against the bark. My eyes widened. A hand yanked me by my left forearm before I could respond to the presence at my back, the person shoving me against the tree and clapping a firm hand on my shoulder and pressing the side of his stiff hand into my throat.

"Who are you?" a rough British tone snarled, his grip alone crushing my shoulder bone.

I shifted in discomfort, grinding my teeth --this would not do. I scowled at the frame of a man, searching for a pair of eyes I could rip out. Blue. British. Mm, what a pretty specimen. Pity I'd have to beat all the 'pretty' out of him. This could take a while . . .

His blue-fire eyes flashed and he pressed his hand deeper, growling, "I'll ask one more time. Who. Are. You?"

If I wasn't being held against my will I might've tried to get his number.

"Wouldn't you like to know tall, dark, and sexy," I purred, dragging my eyes up, then down his body. His black T-shirt fluttered in the autumn breeze as I checked him out, military dogtags jangling on the chain around his neck, a scar on his right eye garnering a smirk. Pity, indeed.

He growled and slammed me against the tree. I grunted as my back made contact with the hard bark, letting out an annoyed huff.

"I won't ask again femme."

"Aww, you're giving me nicknames?" I cooed, fluttering my thick lashes. "And we haven't even been on our first date." He growled louder and I simpered and flashed a fang-filled grin he probably couldn't see.

"Now, now, wouldn't want to wake the baby with all this noise, now would we?" I teased.

His eyes widened out of their menacing state and stayed that way as he pulled me off the tree by my forearms and hissed in my face, "How do you know about her?!" His was so close I could feel his breath. Mmm, I love mint. I smiled and leaned toward his ear.

"The same way I know about William and Sarah Lennox," I whispered, socking him in the gut. He coughed and I circled him, free to jump on his back piggy-back style and slip my arms under his, trapping him in a headlock. My heels digging into his hipe bones, he grunted, stumbling to keep his balance.

"Not so strong now, are we?" I teased as he pulled on my arms. I made a 'tch' sound and leaned forward to stay on and tightened my grip on my wrist, slowly squeezing his throat. "Aww, you okay? You're looking a little blue in the face," I taunted as he choked, not able to resist an evil grin as he struggled to take a breath.

"Who . . . are . . . you," he managed to rasp. I hummed in response and smiled sweetly at him, squeezing harder. He gasped, hands scrambling over mine. I snarled in his ear, "I could kill you right now." He went down on a knee, his body growing weaker from lack of air. "But I won't. They'd miss you too much." Down on both knees and no doubt seeing black, I finished with,

"Isn't that right, Ron?"

His eyes snapped open to look at me before they rolled back in his head and I released him, letting him fall forward with a soft thud. I smiled and walked over to his right side, bending down and resting two fingers against the cartoid artery in his neck.

Ba-dum

Ba-dum

Ba-dum

He looks so cute knocked out.

I smiled and stood up, stepping over his body and continuing my walk to the mailbox. I slipped my hand inside my sweatshirt pocket and pulled out a letter and a pen. I quickly wrote on the edge of the envelope.

I ran into your little body guard. Ha, you might need a new one, I think I scared him into retirement. He's kinda cute though, be sure to tell me where you got him, I want one.

I put the pen back in my pocket, opened the mailbox, and set it inside. I closed it and started walking down the road.

Walking turned into trotting.

Trotting turned into jogging.

Jogging turned into bat out of hell sprinting.

I howled as I ran, silvery fangs glinting in the moon beams. I couldn't wait for tomorrow.

See you soon, Ron.
