"Please, please, please?"

"Oh my god Cal, can you please take your emo ass somewhere else and stop bugging me for once?"

It seemed as though this exact conversation was becoming normal between the children of the Hood household. Calum, the youngest and supposed emo of the family, would hear that Neck Deep, his favorite band, announced another gig in Sydney, causing him to have to beg his older sister to accompany with him at the event. It was becoming too annoying and repetitive at this point.

"Mali," Calum nearly groaned, "I'm not emo, I'm pop punk"

Mali practically snorted in her brother's face and rolled her eyes. "Haven't you seen this band in concert like eleven times already? Give it a rest, honestly."

"But Mali, this is Neck Deep! They're my favorite band in the whole world and you know that!" It was so frustrating to Calum that Mali always had to shut him down like this every time he wanted to go to another Neck Deep concert. In Calum's eyes, Mali would never be able to understand the feeling of happiness and relatability that the band simply brought him.

Trying to take a slightly nicer approach towards the situation, Mali let a soft sigh pass through her lips and ruffled her younger brother's half-raven-half-blond curls. "What about that weird girl with the dyed hair that likes that shit you listen to? Go with her--"

"For the last time, Melanie isn't allowed to go to anymore concerts for the rest of the year because apparently, she's been to too many concerts already," A small pout formed on Calum's face at the thought that any child's parents would dare to forbid them from going to concerts. He was so blessed that his parents didn't pull that card on him and let him go to as many concerts as his heart desired.

Mali let her hand run through her messy hair, seeing as Calum was just not letting this go. "Calum you're fifteen--"

"Seventeen."

"--seventeen years old. Why don't you go to the damn concert by yourself? Who knows, maybe you'll meet a cute guy there and get married and then never come home to bother me about these stupid concerts ever again!"

Calum's sexuality was never in question. The kiwi boy just knew he was gay solely from the fact that he would get a hard on just from hearing Ben Barlow sing, while other guys his age were fondling over boobs as if they were the greatest thing since sliced bread. Well, either he was gay or Ben-Barlow-sexual but Calum would rather tell people the first. Luckily, he had a very supportive family that showered him in hugs and told him that his sexuality didn't change the fact that he was still their sweet son and brother, when he officially came out two years ago. His mother, Joy, even baked him rainbow-colored cookies and instantly gushed about all the teenage boys that would be suitable to date him, making Calum believe that, all along, her secret wish was to have a gay son. Weird.

Joy was also super protective of Calum. With him being the only son and the baby of the family, she would not hesitate to go into full on mother bear mode if even the slightest thing put Calum in harm's way or made him upset. Knowing that, Calum knew there was no way in hell she would ever let him go to a pop punk concert by himself.

"You know mum. She'd never let me, her precious gift from above, go to a concert alone when I can get hurt or kidnapped."

"You got that right. Guess you're not going to the concert then! Sorry Squirt," Mali smirked sinisterly, using the nickname that Calum hated with all his heart, and got up from her previous spot on the living room couch to hopefully escape to her bedroom. That bastard.

"Oh come on Mali, pretty please take me to see Neck Deep? I'll even pay for your ticket and I'll buy you that lip scrub you've been whining about for the past three months," And that's when Calum brought out the big guns, his brown doe eyes widening at an impeccable rate and his bottom lip jutting out. "Please... for me?"

As much as she tried to despise her little brother, Mali knew she couldn't resist giving into his every wish when he pulled that face; it was too cute to resist.

"Fine," Mali sighed; she seemed to being doing that a lot lately, "I'll go with you to the concert."

An very un-manly squeal escaped from Calum's plump lips as he practically jumped on top of Mali and attacked her with hugs, earning a muffled groaned from his annoyed twenty-three year old sister. Little did Calum know how his older sister's decision would affect his life thereafter.
