Chapter 1

Ellie Valentine's P.O.V.

      Our trip to Paris was AMAZING! The scents, the feels, the photos, EVERYTHING! When mum and Dad sat me down to our antic wooden table that night and told me the news I was so excited I could barely breathe! I remember the first time me and Tess talked about it, three years ago. Me and my very best friend, Tessa Leblanc, went on a fab trip when we were elected for the scholarship to France. We are the girls of community work. Seriously!! We were chosen to go to many different community services locations in France, for the whole summer! This was going to be our chance to spread our leaves and talents out to the world, but this time, with my fav person in the world. Not to mention it's the city of-LOVE!!!! I mean duh, I've has boyfriends before, but people get a grip! I'm really hoping to flip my hair a few times infront of the boys, you know?

      On the other hand, Tessa is one of those really quiet girls, and I cross my heart she's the most talented artist I've ever met. She's this adorable petite nerd, my cutie shopping buddy, a hot sweetie, and everyone says she's a saint. Which is DEFINITLEY true! I mean, I would never call her that of course, because she's my doll. She does hate it when I call her that-Not to say she hasn't got a goofy side though. We have so many inside jokes I can't even count!

      They describe me as quirky and hilarious, but even though she's super sweet she has a really funny side. Her hair is shoulder length, a bit shorter than mine, and her facial features fit her perfectly. Her round face matches her gorgeous big brown eyes. She's not quiet until you know her, I guess, but I try to encourage her to step up and show everyone her sunny side! Yep, that's my doll alright!
      I guess you could describe me as outgoing, but I prefer full of fab vibes. I have blond hair, and a touch of faded blue ombré at the ends. It falls just beneath my shoulders, and unlike Tessa's straight hair and black rimmed glasses, I have light, wavy curls. I have a small nose, slim figure, but a bit taller than Tess. Tess says I have the most big, electric, blue eyes she's ever seen, but what can I say? She's an angel! She told me that I'm meant to be On stage, singing, or in the mall. I can see it. Ellie Valentine on the cover of "Glamour"! That's one of the things that connects us I guess. The sharing of kindness! She's the friendliest girl I've met!

My older sister, Sandra, is pretty good for a big sister. I mean, considering she's my only sibling, I guess it's not that bad compared to Tessa. For goodness sake's, Tess has so many siblings! Of course Sandra's got her annoying part though, like the fact that when I told her the news of the trip she freaked out and made me promise to get her some Chanel perfume. She tried to convince mom and dad to let her go with us. Like that's ever going to happen! They said no, but I think they might have been considering it!! I don't need a shopoholic Sandra nagging at me to do stuff on my holidays!! If anything, Sandra is most definitely jealous of us.
       
       Me and Tess have been together through thick and thin, throughout tearful days whipped with heartaches and moans, and days where we're so tired that we can't even finish our sentences and every time we look at each other we burst out laughing, fall ing back and crying happy exhausted tears on those late-night sleepovers. (We've all had those, come on!)
        Some how I find it very hard to believe we ever became friends. We're so different! We've know each other since grade 1, and our parents call us the terrific two. I can see why.
