"We are under attack! Jean, go with Fay and Wayne. Take them away." Alpha Barry shouted to his wife. Jean nodded profusely, running with her 3 months old babies Fay and Wayne and the other women and children to the safe secret basement.
The Starveblood pack had struck again. They had attacked as promised because Alpha Barry refused to give up his title. No Alpha would willingly give up his title unless he was a coward and Jean was proud of her husband for not being a coward.
The women were soothing their crying children, telling them everything would be fine and praying to the Moon goddess that their mates and husbands would be safe. Jean was one of those women. She prayed that her mate would be safe and come to her but her case was different. In the case where all werewolves have just one child at a time, Jean was blessed with two. Twins. The first twins in the history of werewolves. Alpha Barry feared for his children because it was known by all werewolves that any wolf mated with a twin wolf would be very strong and wise and the twins themselves would be extremely strong and wise so he was sure as they grew, rogues would try to capture them and mate with them so that they would be strong.
Barry slashed a Starveblood wolf across the face with his mighty claws. His claws wanted flesh to tear. Starveblood flesh. He bit the neck of another wolf and kept running. Killing wolves on the way, helping his wolves in distress, looking for the one man, Fergus Wood. The Alpha of the Starveblood pack, the one who wanted to rule all wolves in the world.
Fergus was looking at the battle with an evil smile on his face and didn't see when Barry hit him with a paw. He screamed in pain and Barry growled lunging at him. The war was brutal and in the end the Moonlight pack won. And Fergus was dead, his head lying a metre away from his deceased body.
The men went to retrieve their women and pups and Jean hugged Barry tight and long.
"Don't you ever make me so worried." She said, kissing him on the cheek.
They enjoyed themselves, organising a bonfire with everyone present.
In their happiness over their victory, they failed to notice the old woman, Niamh, sitting near the Alpha and Luna, blow something into the eyes of Fay. When they landed on the baby's eye, she remained silent. Frozen. It was Wayne's cry for his sister that made them notice something was wrong. Wayne felt the pain, trouble and bad omen of his sister.
But Fay saw the face of the old woman Niamh before her eyes went blank. And even the baby knew that woman was evil. A traitor. And it was the woman that robbed her of her sight.
Her sight the doctor said will never be retrieved. Alas, the little Alpha's daughter was permanently blind.
