A thunderous roar fueled by a thousand voices shattered the omnious silence. The beast furiously reared its head then slowly moved its face closely to the girl's. She appeared to be in her mid teens and wore a plain tan dress, a worn light green sweater and simple black sandals. Her long brown hair was neatly tied into a braid, a red ribbon held it in place. And nonetheless she was experiencing fear, her facial features were visibly pretty and delicate.
"How dare you summon me mortal" - said the beast, as a parent would scold a child.
"You have awoken me from my slumber, tell me your bidding and be quick about it, for I might decide to tear you limb to limb..."
When those last words were spoken the beast released its breath onto the girl's face. The room was suddenly filled with smoke and ash. Cindy had simply stood in awe. Every single word pronounced had made the walls of her room creak and moan. The entity stood before her exactly in the middle of the markings she had carefully sketched on the floor. The creature appeared to be more animal than human. It was covered in dark grey fur from the waist down. Its arms were long, the hands ended in black sharp claws. Its grey skin seemed rough and thick and was covered in the very same markings the girl had drawn . Its eyes were black and glimmered due to the array of meticulously aligned candles. The creature's head was mostly covered by long, grey and filthy hair. Its face bore a long and unkempt grizzly beard. Upon its head sprung a huge pair of black horns, cracked and broken. The beast was overwhelming in the small space. The stench that had suddenly struck the room was vile and putrefact. Cindy realized she had not been physically prepared for the encounter. Her back was to the wall, an expression of sheer terror on her face. She had already vomited twice due to the stench and was trying her best not to hurl again. She looked at the creature standing before her and tried to speak. She was not able to utter a single word.
"Speak at once you fowl insignificant waste of sleep" - he roared.
"Or I will be tempted to devour you and the rest of the vermin who reside in this cesspool"
Cindy could feel the vibrations running through the walls and up her back with every single word.
"That's... What I want .." - she said faintly.
"Speak up you insect!!!"
She heard a distinctive noise. Somewhere in her room a wall had started to crack. A shelf with jars and other knickknacks rattled out of control. Dust filled the small space. It was difficult for her to breathe.
"That's what I want you to do!!! - She screamed.
"I want them to pay, to suffer as I've suffered for the hell they've put me through"
Her face was red with anger and hate. Tears began rolling down her face.
"You want me to devour the filthy beings that live here.. " - he said calmly.
"No... I want them broken, destroyed, I want them shun by society, by the rest of the family, the neighbors; everyone. I want everyone to remember them for what happened here ..."
The beast smiled a grotesque smile. The next time he spoke his words did not create a ruckus.
"What is it you want me to do you pityful thing?" - he laughed a dreadful, twisted, dark laugh.
"I want you to kill my step mother. I want it to seem that my father did it. I want him to see you butchering her. I want everyone to think he went crazy"
The beast laughed a thunderous laugh. Then his expression abruptly changed. His eyes began glaring of a bright red. Everything became eerily silent.
"You do know what I will require afterwards, do you vermin? - as he spoke, the shelf with the jars once began shaking and clanking.
"I do, and you'll have what you ask for in return ...The blood of three innocents ..." - Cindy said shyly.
"I cannot help but to be curious ..." - said the beast as he once again brought his face closely to the girl's..
"How will a little mouse like you even be capable of performing such a task, when you cannot even finish one simple and unsuspecting persons life? A person who you seem to hate so much ..."
Cindy took a deep breath, lowered her face and focused on one of the candles on the floor which seemed unaffected by the beast's presence.
"Because ... I have my own reasons and ... I believe there is nothing else you need to know ..." - she said timidly.
Once again thunderous laughter corrupted the room. This time Cindy was sure the whole shelf would fall. For a moment, amidst the chaos, she regretted not having placed it somewhere safe.
"You speak the truth for I do not care how and what you do to repay my fee. But I need not to say what will happen if you do not fulfil your end. For I will not only come to gather and delightfully play with you for eternity, but I will also unleash my wrath on to those who you truly care about, not only your family who I now know you despise, but anyone else I deem neccesary to satisfy my lust and mend the dispair of your broken word"
The room no longer creacked and trembled, the jars no longer clanked and rattled. Cindy nodded.
"I know" - she said in a broken voice, hardly a whisper.
"There is something else ..." - she said.
Then she looked directly into the beast's glowing eyes.
"I want her to know it was me who made it happen."
"And so it shall be ... " - said the beast, a puzzled look on it's face.
"You amuse me you tiny little thing. I would take much delight In pulling you apart and gnawing on your bones as of now"
The creature smiled, displaying the long, sharp and crooked teeth held in the unproportionate huge mouth. It's tongue grossly sliding over them as he sadisticly eyed her.
"And perhaps someday you shall..." - replied Cindy.
For an instant she seemed fearless to the ancient abomination. The creature no longer smiled.
"Let us conclude this useless dialogue and enlighten me as to when, where and how you want this done" - said the beast as if boredom had started to set in.
Cindy placed her hand into her sweater's pocket and pulled out a small jar. Depicted on it were two angels playing trumpets. The angels were white and gold and were painted with many details. They were also faded and very old. In some parts the paint had begun to peel off. Cindy held it carefully with her both hands.
"This" - she said while raising the jar.
"Is my step mom's favorite jar. She collects them. Her mother passed them on to her and her mother's mother also passed them on once. They've been in her family for generations. She loves them more than anything else on earth. I hate them. I took this one a week ago. She's been desperately searching for it. Of course, she accused me. And of course, my father quickly believed her and took her - ..."
A deafening roar interrupted her mid-sentence and for a moment it felt to her like the whole house was going to collapse. Cindy lost her balance and the jar slipped from her hands. She watched almost in slow motion as it seemed to hit the floor. But it never did. The beast brought one of his clawed hands very close to her face. She could feel the heat and the stench and made a strong effort to not vomit again. This time she was successful. The beast slowly opened its hand. The jar was lying in the center of its claw and appeared to be intact. She slowly started to reach into the creatures hand when he abruptly closed it.
"Spare me the insignificant family tale. Your kind is merely a speck of dust in time. If I were to follow my own will and desire I would already have basked in the blood and bones of the rats who infest this place. But you... You I would enjoy to undo until I was pleased ... or bored."
"But" - he paused.
"You have a summoned me through a rite as ancient as our first followers on this diseased rock. And before you even consider explaining how such a maggot as yourself accomplished this, I remind you that I will not indulge in your unnecessary words any further. And true to the ancient pacts and laws which once ruled both our kinds, I am therefore required to oblige. Of course, for the price you already know."
The beast once again opened his hand. This time the girl was able to reach for the jar and when she grabbed it, she held it tightly against her chest. Cindy looked into the creature's eyes as she spoke, determined and unremorseful.
"I will place the jar on the living room floor and then I will bring her to where the jar is. When she picks it up, you'll emerge from it and kill her... make sure my father watches, but do not forget, he is not to be harmed." - Cindy's voice was cold and emotionless.
"That's the way I want it to be. I'll watch as everything happens. I need to be there."
"So be it!!! - roared the beast with the echo of a thousand voices.
The rattling of the jars and the creaking of the walls once again sung their song. Suddenly the beast burst into smoke and flame, blinding the girl momentarily. When she was finally able to open her eyes she could see the trail of smoke and flame disappearing into the jar. Cindy reached into her sweater's pocket and pulled out a silver lid. She gently tightened the lid on. The angels, once old and faded, now seemed alive and shone with light. Letters once invisible had brightly appeared on the lid. They spelled "Asmodeus". She then slowly walked to the shelf with the jars and carefully, placed it between two others. These also had names on their lids. One spelled "Abaddon", the other "Baphomet". Cindy then looked closely at the jar which now contained the dreadful beast. It seemed as if a lightning storm had been trapped inside. Flashes of light and swirling smoke and fire circled endlessly inside. She thought she heard a faint muffled roar. For an instant, the jar slightly shaked. Then, it was still again. Cindy then began humming a melody while she continued to arrange the other jars which had been shaken out of place. A melody she had known and sung for ages. A melody as ancient as the pacts and laws that once ruled two ancient kinds ...
